Default What Kind of Wheels and Tires Are You Running and Why?

I can't decide what wheels and tires I want to get for my SC400, so I wanted to see what everyone else is running to help me make a decision.
Just tell me your wheel and tire size and brand and why you decided to go with them.

I'm running a set of bright silver OEM 2007 Lexus IS350 wheels. The fronts are 8" in the front with 225/40/18 tires on them and the rears are 8.5" with 255/40/18 tires on them. I got the wheels because I wanted something to replace my ugly stock 15 inch wheels until I could afford a nice set of Volks or Works once I get out of school. I'm selling the wheels now since I found the set of wheels I want, but I want a chrome or gunemtal set of IS350 wheels later on since I really like them.

I bought my SC4 with 20's, then sold them and now riding on stock ones. It's my DD, and I go to bay area often, and with path holes it makes a lot of sense to me.

When I had my SC3, I had enkei 18's on it. 245/35/18 all around.

Not to get off-topic, but when did you get an SC400? I thought you were selling the SC300 and getting another BMW?

Sold SC3 and got acura CLS lol, didn't like it at all... So sold it within like 3 months and got SC4. I really wanted SC4 from the beginning when I first got into SC. And bmws... I'm done with them, I don't like them anymore, they're just show off, unreliable, and boring

I'm running supra TT wheels for now until I figure out what 18's I'm going to get. I've had my share of wheels 19's, 18's etc... I'm going 18's because of the drag radial tire options.

I think he's asking why people are running the wheels they run, that other thread is more about what will fit.

Yes im getting a little tired of having to see people justify every single thread.

Its getting ridiculous

My last thread was the same.

Yes of course there is alot of info in the search threads------but there is also even more info if you just google it----why not avoid every thread altogether and just go google the info we need.

Its getting out of hand----and its killing the vibe here.

oh and im on 20 inch chromes---forget the brand lol----jdm's or something---and im on NANKANG rubbers.

Whatever you do ----DO NOT BUY NANKANG TIRES----they are total garbage.

Why north america still imports goods from china is beyond me.

Exactly. I read the internet like a mad man, whether it be this forum or random sites, and if I cant find the info I need then I post a new thread. Anyways, Im trying to figure out what wheels and tires would be best for my own personal needs, and maybe someday in the future when someone else is looking to get new wheels and tires and they too can refer to this thread to help them make a decision. I tried reading discount tires "read reviews on tires for your car" but all the reviews were for tires with long tread life and not performance. Im looking for something that will last me a while but can also withstand a lot of g-force.

Now!...lets get back on topic, shall we?

current setup
mb battles, 18x8.5 in front, 18x9.5, 23+ offset all four wheels

245/40/18s in the front will cahnge to 225/40/18s when they wear out, 245/45/18s in the back

future plans for fronts
front is sunken in a little and will add spacers either 15mm or 20mm when i get the 225 on the fronts

future plans for rears
the rears are sitting flush with the 245/45s in the back, wen with 245/45 in stead of 245/40 because i like meaty tires in my rears, future tire sizes considers would be a 265/35, or 255/40, with added spacers 10 mm and slight flare in the rear

but the 245s are keeping pretty happy without breaking the bank
