I always laugh when I hear people say this about 2js or LSxs. "Everybody is doing it so it's a bad idea and I'm going to go with x motor to be different". Those project never actually get off the ground. With no aftermarket support and a huge expense to swap why bother when in reality the ONLY thing that matters is this- does it have the power you want? is it reliable? is it practical? does it fit in your budget/skill level? The fact is you can get all of these with a 2j or an LSX. Exotic motor swaps are great for shops looking for publicity. But for those that actually want to DRIVE their car (point of the hobby no?) go with something proven and realistic

^^Truth^^.. Thats why threads like these are usually started by some 15 year old who built a nasty 1000hp sc300/240sx/Supra in Gran turmiso. Now they want one in real life, so they join a forum, then they post some ridiculous thread (ie "Thinking of doing a murcelago engine swap"). Then they throw in some absurd deal they found ("This guy from bumblefu[k Nebraska is selling a lambo motor from $1000!!! "). Then two days later after their dream lambo powered SC/240/civic/etc. has been shot down by other members of the forum and their post is no longer on the front page. The 15 yr old's account slowing dies and then we all lose a little patience for newbs who dont search or use basic logic.
Its really sad to watch

^Lol. You know I also need to point something out. Bravo to lexus for coming out with a high horsepower V8... but below I'm going to post the engine specs of 2 v8s. Which one do you think lexus would develop?
400ft/lbs@4400RPM, 400hp@6000RPM 19city/28 highway/23 combined.
371ft/lbs@5200RPM, 416hp@6600RPM 16city/23 highway/18 combined.
If you picked the more efficient and more powerful motor (engine 1 has more area under the curve) as the lexus engine you'd be wrong... also engine 1 is cheaper and has generally proven to be very reliable
