Default cost of rebuild

I have a chance to pick up a 2jz na motor very cheap, it is not in a car but you can turn it over with a wrench. It will at the veryleast need to be rebuilt, does anybody know what a rebuild kit runs. I will do the work myself (other than machine shop work. Oh and by cheap, like 60 dollars. A guy at my work used it as a mock up for a car he was building. Too much risk involved?

is this going to be your primary? Spare motor? future na-t? In other words why would you buy it?

As cheaply as na motors, in good, low mileage condition, are available these days, I can't see the sense in doing a teardown and rebuild of an engine, even if you got it for free and did the labor yourself. The only reason that it would make sense is if you just really wanted to do it for the experience of doing it, then it's another story.

isn't worth the time unless you plan to build it.

Yeah, just to build it. I could take my time and build it to turbo. My car currently has no problems, so I could just take my time and by the parts at my leisure and build it how I wanted. I am aware this is the more expensive way to go, but then you are starting with a fresh motor.
