SC400 ZERO Maintence records
95 SC400
Current Mileage: 134,XXX
Well I got my SC about 2 years ago and I love the car so I want it to last. The car came with ZERO maintenance records. I have no idea about whens the last time things have been checked or replaced.
Would it be in my best interest to take it to my local merchants and get it looked at to see what is needed for future maintenance. Or can I find threads on here on how to test to look at for myself to see what needs to be replaced.
Such as spark plugs, wires, distributor caps, rotors, timing belt, ect
All I know is that I change my oil every 3000-4000 miles and well the last oil change they told me I should get a power steering flush but for 100 dollars I did not have the money at the time. Also how important is a power steering flush, my PS is doing fine but they said the fluid is dirty.

Power steering flush is super easy. Save your money and take a look at
this link.
If you are not mechanically inclined, have a proper mechanic at an indy shop take a
look at your vehicle. Please do not bring your SC to Merchants. What part of VA are
you from? I can probably pass along some information from a reputable shop if your
in the Northern VA/DC area.

You can go to the lexus drivers site
https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/home
There you can register using your VIN and it'll show you any records from work done at a lexus dealership. You can also enter your own records. That's how I keep track of everything I've done on mine. That way I don't have to worry about loosing reciepts.

Great site. I just registered my vehicle and found all sorts of records from the original purchase up to 2005. My vehicle seems to be serviced by a dealer for most of it's life. The only strange thing I've found is that the timing belt was changed at 43k (2002) and they did a 60,000 mile service, then at 47k (2003) miles, they did a 40,000 mile service. It was serviced by the same dealer and I'm wondering why they did things this way. I'm at 124k now and I've been thinking about doing another timing belt/water pump change.

What do they usually put on there that shows the timing belt was changed?
