Door guard removal
Can anyone tell me how the guards on the middle doors are held on? I want to remove it to give my car a cleaner look but if it's going to leave holes in the side of the car then I'd just as soon leave them on. I searched and couldn't find anything on them, thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure he means the b-pillars since they are likely peeling and showing the metal underneath. I know mine are and have been looking for a way to refinish them, the thread on here about it has a good walk-through but expired photos, which sucks.
OP, I've seen other people just paper off the entire car, sand them down to the metal, then prime, paint, and wetsand. As far as removal, there are two rubber covers but I have had a hard time taking them off so I'm not completely sure if they have mounting screws underneath or what. However since you haven't posted pictures of what you're talking about I may be wrong in the b-pillar assumption. The only other things I could think of are the moldings that protect from door dings or the rubber moldings.

SC300jz I think has it. My apologies for not being clear. It's the molding that runs horizontal along the side of the car. There's a small section of it on the fender, a long line along the door and then another small piece on the quarter panel. I wasn't exactly sure of the name of it, I figured it was a "guard" cause I believe it's to protect the door from other car doors and grocery carts. I never gave it much thought until I noticed that most of the cars on here don't have it.

He means his SC has door guards on it. The colored panel strip that makes contact with objects first before the door when opening it. It should peel off, use a heat gun so you don't ruin the original paint underneath.

I've seen quite a few bone stock SC's with them on. I'm guessing it was some sort of dealer option back in the day. They are pretty ugly to say the least and I'm not too sure how they're put on the car.
