Thanks for the site - I looked it up and it has a very interesting service history. I will post some thoughts after I go through it.

Hey Jadu - thanks for your input - any particular reason you would pass?

That was just my initial feeling looking at the faults you mentioned; rereading it, the car doesn't seem bad. have you looked at any other SC4's around your area? The reason I bring this up is I picked up spur of the moment you can say and wound up paying a lot on maintenance and fixing the interior

he is adamant that he will not take less than 3700 - I am headed to europe for 3 weeks - we'll let him sit on it - I am not sure that there are too many buyers for this car with a big dent in the back left quarter panel - we'll see if it is still there in November

OK - I found a 1998 with 175K miles - not the stock radio - a new dvd unit with popup - he is asking 3000 - body is great, but interior is not in as good a shape as I have seen - any thoughts?

I would tell him to drop the price. After all, you know you're going to want to replace those stock LS400 wheels, and he knows it too.

Also, re steering wheel tilt, do a search as I am pretty sure there is a forum member who was able to fix that issue by replacing a washer or something like that. I don't know if its the same problem, but it might be.

The car may be worth more, but I would value it at $2800... maybe $3000, in my opinion of course. I figure that fixing all those little things plus the cosmetic stuff, then adding on a decent set of rims would bring you in the 5-6K range, and at that price, as someone already said you can probably find a 98+ with lower miles.

Hey Mike - Thank you for your response - I found a 98 that I am going to see this afternoon - it is stock except for the radio and has a popup dvd modern stereo unit in it - he is asking 3000 and it has 175K miles - what do you think?

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...-check-it.html

should give you an idea of how much to pay. i paid this but with the better rims and extra stuff so I'd say around no more than 3000 for the 97 sc400
