I might be picking up a 1uz with 40k on it. The guy said it is a german spec motor and has more hp/tq than the us/jdm versions. Can anyone validate this? my search led nowhere!
This may be irrelevant but I was once told that the power rating out of Germany was slightly different than some places, i.e. 225HP in a German engine is not the same as 225HP in an engine from a different country. I drive a Mercedes E320 4matic as well as my SC,and both are rated at about the same power. However, the E320 is considerably faster and weighs more. Who knows, but I have my flame suit on at this point just to be safe.
hahaha... allways good to keep the suit handy! Yeah im wanting to know, he said it seems taller or wider than the 1uz here. he had to buy solid mounts to get it to fit!

Is it from the guy posting in the inland Emipre Craigslist who's parting out an sc400 in Lake elsinore? If so I seen the motor and talked to him about it when I picked up some stuff off of him.
What I gathered from what he said, was that the motor is from a German LS400 and that the main difference in the motor was that it had a "touring wedge" design. Which means the "V" of the motor was to a greater degree and produced more torque/power. I dunno if any of what he said is true, but the motor was damn clean and did look a tad bigger compared to the original V8 of the sc400 which he had sitting on the floor next to the car. But the size comparison may have been skewed since one was clean and installed and the other was just sitting on the floor.
All in all the guy was legit and honest about everything, if anything I think he may just be misinformed about the motor he has.
