Default New SC in the works?

Not sure if it's legit, but thought it was interesting.

The SC430 may be getting booted headfirst out of Lexus’ lineup, but don’t think for one minute that the Japanese auto brand hasn’t already made plans for a successor. Snuggling itself in the SC430’s slot will be the LC600h (tentatively named) which will be built on a shortened version of the next-generation LS platform. A Lexus insider claims that the LC600h will capture the essence of Lexus, including their performance, luxury, and environment causing it to reach the luxurious status of the Mercedes SL-Class.

The LC600h will be an all-wheel drive convertible with a retractable metal roof. It will be powered by a 5.0-liter V-8 hybrid system that will produce around 500 HP. That’s a helluva successor considering the current SC430 only delivers a measly 288hp in comparison. With this amount of power the future convertible will make the sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.

The Lexus insider further stated: "If we don’t get anymore nasty surprises on the economic front, then any time after 2015 might be the right time for the LC."

The official debut will be made at one of the major shows in 2014.

They should drop in a suped up IS-F engine or a turbo engine in a slightly modified 97+ SC body.

The SC seems to be the car Toyota cares the least about.

Doesn't the rear look identical to the latest generation TT?

I'm probaly one of the few guys on this board that will say this, but I actually like the SC430. It's a nice car but it is nothing like the original. Along with the ES300, the SC took a step backwards in design back in the early 2000's. I have a feeling they'll either screw this up worse than the SC430 or it'll take forever to come out.

That's what I've been thinking. It would've sold better if they had kept the SC up to date. The old LS and GS had navigation but the SC didn't a long with other features. They never advertise the SC's or promote it either.

Kinda reminds me of a Skyline, but still looks nice.

We can only wait and hope at this point though, it's still in the planning stage at this point so anything, including the axe, can happen.
