SC400 Body Kits
Hey does anyone know where I can get a cheap lexus sc body kit with a new front and rear bumper and the side skirts, like under 2,000 dollars. I dont want one that just has the extentions. If you could also list the price and the website, that would be great. Thanks.

Get a bomex kit. I probably will next summer if I can save enough money (which won't be any time soon). IMO it's the best looking kit and has a reasonable price tag of about $1,160.

Personally, I HATE the bottom treatment on that kit...that bubbled SUV running board sideskirt and matching bumpers (just the edges) are so frickin' ugly...
The front bumper would be nice if they just clipped the round ends off each side....
I think the price tags gets 'em though...but I wonder how many people would pick that kit over the AutoCouture or Wald or any other kit if they were the same price.
That's the way you should shop for kit or any add-on product. Don't look at the price, look at the what it is, what it does, how you like it, THEN figure out a way to get it for a good price. Too many people fix up their cars based on price...that's NOT the way to do it.

VIS makes a knock off version of the vertex kit
its looks really good...well the vertex does
the VIS calls it the vortex kit i think
and VIS makes theirs from a mold by just pooring the liquid fiberglass in... but the real vertex kit is made of hand layed fiberglass
in other words... the more you pay...the better it will fit
nothing will fit as well as stock ...but it will work
the VIS can be around 900 or so...not too much
i have the bomex kit...and it ran me $1,462 or somehitng around those numbers...which included the front bumper..rear pieces... sides and spoiler
i like it alot...
and it was easier to obtain than the others from japan

I actually like the look of the bomex kit better than any other. If price wasn't an option I'd still want the bomex
mjames: Green is the best color ever. Period. I think it will look real nice w/ a body kit (but i haven't seen any pics either). You don't need a whole new paint job!

Hey I finally agree with manaray on something.. That kit sticks out too much imo....
Im guessing Hanie means no lip kits.... from the extension remark...
*also VIS does not make their kits themselves... Their kits are produced in Japan. They may customize kits and send the mold to Japan, but they do not produce it at VIS.

Oh yeah, also consider if you car has been in an accident ... The real kits are meant to have a close to OEM fit, if your car has been in medium/major accident, you may end up having it not flush as well as it is suppose to be... Good Luck!

Best is really a relative term. The Bomex is waaay too sporty for an SC300 and SC400 (notice how I didn't include turbo SC300s). A racey kit like that implies you have some heat under the hood. If you don't, then you shouldn't. The SC is a luxo cruiser, not a race car, so the Wald and Auto Conture are the BEST kits to match up with the SC300/400.
Now if you have a +500rwhps SC300, you can put a Boeing triple-stacked aluminum whale-tail on the back of your SC and strap on some NASA ninja combat extreme aero kit for all I care. Just make sure you light up at least 99% of the cars on the road.
