Default 95' SC300 w/ 97+ Dash Harness, potential problems?

Has anyone swapped in a 97+ dash harness from a 95 dash harness. I was told that if i put the 97+ dash harness in my car that the 97+ cluster would work like OEM. The problem is getting fixed as we speak I would like to know for my own personal knowledge. Are they any things that I need to be aware of before attempting to leave this harness in for good, because this car will be a DD for a little while, Thanx.

I think i remember someone saying that the radio might need some repining. I read it when i was doing searches on putting in the 97+ clusters in the pre 97. I was able to finish mines by soldering the plugs onto my 95 harness.

I actually didnt use the 99 harness. I was only given the plugs and the cluster so i just soldered the plugs into my 95 harness. Everything works except the avg. mpg. My temp. isnt working, but it could be my sensor.

ext. temp. Il try taking off the sensor and maybe even repalcing it to see if it works. Yeah tach and speedometer. Mines off 8mph but i think that has something to do with my gte swap and rear end.

Yes this is definately a hott upgrade. With this and the gated shifter installed the interior is no longer outdated and if you have the 97+ body conversion to go with it then there is no more need for a 97+ sc. I think yours will be easier since your car is a 95 . Some wires will have to be repinned on the radio /ac harness to get the hazard to work.
