Default Car Storage Help

I heard I should put some fuel stabilizer in my gas tank before I store my car for the winter and was wondering it's safe for V8 engines?

Sta-Bil Fuel Stabilizer states:

"For all 2-cycle and 4-cycle gasoline and diesel engines"

I can't find any specific fuel stabilizer for V8's lol =(

I'm planning on driving my car every 2 weeks around the parking lot to make sure nothing goes bad.

I'd imagine that it would be fine without it if you drive it every two weeks. How cold does it get and how many months will it be stored? I had a car sit for 5 months and the gas was fine.

Every V-8 you've ever seen or heard of is a 4-cycle engine!

You'll be fine

guys yes since this thread is already on the topic what is the best way to store your car for the winter------should i be starting it up once everyy week or two?

Should i drain the gas or run it empty?

should I do anything to the oil or any other fluids?

all my other cars previously used to be winter driven so i never had this concern---im thinking of tasking my sc off the road in the next month or so.

please let me know ---thanks guys

If you are going to store your car for 6 months or more, with out starting it up. Unhook your battery, and drain all fluids or put stabilizers in them. Also most car collectors like to put their cars up on a lift or up on jack stands to save tire life. Gas going bad, tire rought, and anti freeze having to much water and freezing are the main concerns. If you can just go out to your garage once a week, start the car let it warm up (so oil and trans fluid can become warm) back it up to the open garage door and let it run for 15 min.

Fuel stabilizer is not needed unless you store for long periods of time, 6 months or more without starting it up. If you are able to start it up once a week or every two weeks, you should not have to worry about it.

4 Cycle/4 Stroke = Intake, Compression, Power and Exhaust. Virtually all cars are 4 stroke motors. 2 Stroke motors have oil mixed into the fuel to lubricate the moving parts i.e. mostly found in lawn equipment.
