Recently bought another car. This thing is huge! It's a '70 Cadillac Eldorado.
Also, be nice towards my SC. I plans for her over the winter. And winters around here are LONG.

I wouldn't know how to go about a comparing an SC with a 40-year-old car especially since I haven't driven anything else from that era. What I can say is that both cars follow the philosophy of the personal luxury coupe very well. The Eldorado has power locks, power windows, power seats, and cruise control -- kind of a big deal back then.
The engine at 8.2L is the biggest ever put into a production vehicle (until the 2003 Viper V10). Gobs of torque fed through a 3sp automatic powering the front wheels also a big deal. In a time when cars were 5000lbs of American steel, a good FWD system was a god-send in vehicle handling.
The different design features found in the car really make it clear that people built cars differently back then: Controls for the wipers is on the door; fog-light/high-beam switch is found on the floor; unlike most FWD cars, the engine was mounted longitudinally instead of transversely; carburetor instead of fuel-injection; restraining the driver is one lap-belt and another belt going over the shoulder; the fuel cap is located in the middle of the rear at the reverse light. As I mentioned before tons of torque makes a tachometer redundant so the only dynamic displays are the fuel gauge, a clock, and a horizontal speedometer.
My example is far from perfect. There are several cosmetic damages to the interior and the body, the clock and radio don't work, and a few bulbs won't turn on. But I'd say for a 40-year-old car, it's in pretty good condition.
Jumping from the SC and into the Eldo, the cars seem quite different. For one the car is longer. It's so long, it feels like you're driving a boat. The steering is light, but not as tight (ie: you have to turn the wheel more). The brake pedal requires more effort. Rear visibility is a little more restricted because of the C-pillar (not a big deal, but it makes proper mirror adjustment more important). The engine is not as smooth as a 1UZ, but at 8.2L, no one expects it to be. Gas mileage is so god-awful, it makes you feel like douche just driving it (you can take that as a good or bad thing

Styling-wise the car is very masculine as opposed to the elegance of the SC. Also unlike the SC, the Eldo's looks are very dated and yet it still looks good ( I love the way the rear looks, see my second pic).
Also, I can fit tons of crap in the trunk!

Besides the trunk space, just about everything is better in the SC. Decades of technological advancement definitely shows through.

Restorative maintenance will be nice somewhere done the line. Perhaps a repaint to a different color. I'd like to keep the Eldo as original as I can.
