Default Throttle body Gasket Whine?

Newfag here, just got a 92' SC300 with the GTE block and recently installed a Air Impulse II CAI....Man does she purr (233,333 miles to boot!) Car runs phenomenal although it could use a tune up and a new set of breaks. What has me pissed off is a high-pitched whine coming from the throttle body area that seems to increase @ idle. I've been told this is the felpro $70 throttle body gasket. Before I spend the $ ($45 @ rock auto) i'd like to get your input on these gaskets...Do they go bad often? Is this high-pitched whine a common symptom of gasket failure?

Thanks in advance, been around the boards a while and am always willing to help out when I can, however it's going to be a minute before I figure out this 2jz...Im used to working on American cars

Haven't heard one whine before.

You shouldn't pay more than 10 bucks for one either. IIRC, you can get them from a Toyota dealer for like $8.

That sucker right there is an expensive SOB.

Now the other "plenum" gasket is cheap...like $7

Maybe my problem lies with the idle speed control valve? Or maybe another hole in the throttle body although i've already plugged two of them...engine quit stalling at just about every stop light but the annoying high-pitch whine is still there. Almost like a bearing whine but it's definitely coming from the throttle body.

tried 4 different parts stores, all of them wanted to give me the "beasty" felpro gasket for the VVT 2jz. Called the Lexus dealership and after about 5min of searching they found it...$7 out the door. Whine is gone..Old Gasket had obvious signs of corrosion and was deformed.
