I had a ssqv on my evo... much to the chagrin of many tuners and forum jockeys. i liked it, car ran good and I had it tuned for it. I also ran an external wastegate dump so... LOL

i don't like the SSQV with the chirping insert in it. Co worker had one on his and his insert kept melting, so he fabbed up a metal ring to replace it. It doesn't chirp like other SSQVs do, just a simple "psssshhhh." i actually kinda like it.

HKS SSQV with no insert. Removing the insert stops the whistle, and gives a nice solid push of air.
