Well I finally got around to putting on my LS400 brakes today. I also got my sunroof wind visor on. It came off a Nissan Altima. It has actually mounting hardware, instead of tape to hold it on. It seems to have a lower profile than the ones I have seen for our cars.
My project car took a turn for the worst. Bought it not running at all with 195K. Had ECU rebuilt, installed new distributor caps/rotors, spark plugs, wires, then learned the timing belt skipped a few teeth so I did the timing belt, water pump, pulley's, tensioner, varoius gaskets/seals/o'rings, etc.... Finally get to drive it out of the driveway today to learn the transmission grabs late.
Going normal speed it's fine, but pedal to the floor it grabs around 4-5K which is very late. I believe 2800-3200rpm is where it should upshift. I was thinking the new ECU might still be adjusting, but I'm doubtful.
All and all I'm about $1950 into it which really isn' bad considering all the new parts, but I originally planned to flip this car for profit. It's impossible to find someone willing to purchase a car with 200K and a tranny problem. I could part it and get my money back no problem(black interior, bc coilovers, 3 spoke wheel, 18's, etc...) but I'd hate to put a good dog down.
Completed my lip kit by installing rear spats from another car
what were the rear.. hell I dont even know what to call them, skirt editions?.. off of? I was going to fiberglass from scratch, but these might make a better starting point.
More like what did I do all weekend. Installed the whiteline steering rack bushings and MK4 control arms, got an alignment and STILL get the clunk noise when I press hard on the brakes. It's gotta be a motor mount or maybe the upper control arm. I'm just lost :/

Hmm in ter rest ing.. It got me thinking about what other cars had something like this. I've been looking at every car on the roads rear skirts trying to see what I can chop. Thanks for the info
Bought 2 front seats, rear seats, sunroof trim, buckle trims, both a pillars, dash, many many other things all for the 1996 SC "pig pen". Have yet to make it look decent...lol
