That's insane pricing, I don't know AUS exchange rate, or shipping costs but that's seems insane to me. Plenty of people on here will do you a favor, just ask.
That is $70 for aftermarket through Rockauto not OEM.

$70 US works out to be around $100 AU then add shipping, so for the extra $40 for the Genuine unit why would I settle for less when I can get proven Toyota quality & reliability? In the long run, $140 each for an OEM coil pack is not insanely expensive if they are going to last another 20 odd years.

The igniters on the other hand @ $363 each new is indeed steep, but try finding them cheaper. Just the nature of the 1UZ & having 2 of everything.

At the end of the day the way I look at it is I won't be carrying spares or wasting money on used tired replacements.

Exactly, for the peace of mind alone.

Rather than wait around for unpredictable used replacements to inevitably fail it's 1 more thing not to have to worry about & 1 more thing to rule out when something else goes wrong. Especially common failure items such as these, I would rather replace & not have to think about again.

Found out why my right front door speakers wouldn't work after replacing all of the blown speakers in the SC4. Gotta connect the male/female wire clusters down by the jack that are left hanging in the left quarter panel after you remove the factory phone amp. DOY! All sound from all corners now. YAY!

I polished the headlamps after I drove it 1,278 miles from Kerrville, TX to Tustin, CA in 13.5 hours. I averaged ~90 mph the while trip! took off around 3:30 PM and arrived at 06:30 AM. I just inherited it (93 SC400) from my Father after owning an LS400 6 years ago. Im back baby!

And my wife wonders why I want to take my 400 on our drive to Vegas (from Seattle) rather than our Volvo SUV.

To be fair, we need to bring a lot of stuff and once we get there we'll need to be able to cart around 4 people, one of which is a baby in a rear-facing car seat. It is just 2 of us for the drive down and we could get all the stuff in the car with just the two of us, it's really the carting around of the baby that's the biggest consideration.

I installed new coil pack connectors, was pretty easy. I definitely needed new ones, 2 of the old ones broke apart when unclipping them ha. Also re grounded the ground for my temp gauge so it works all the time now ha.
