My ds headlight had a little water in it and some condensation, so I was baking today to clean it up and to reseal.
The only time I've ever baked anything in the oven in my entire life and it freaking came out perfect!!
Baking was the easy part, it's the cleaning the old sealer what takes time
Moving on with looking for the right temp sealer to go with now, and back on to the install
I'm not a chef, but I can ****ing bake headlights

Any butyl based glue will do as good or better than OEM sealant for headlights.

out of curiosity, is your oven Electric or Gas.. if gas (not as in petrol type of gas.. In Oz we don't call petrol gas.) how do you protect the headlight from the naked flame... btw I don't use my oven either hence the question

Today .. well actually yesterday just before the 41 Celsius day (105.8F) really got started, I replaced my LHS (left hand side) LCA (Lower control arm) with a second hand one in surprisingly really good condition for $100 AU. The rear LCA rubber was going to cost me more...$110!!!
All works well but unfortunately I attempted to under the stabilising bar nuts and they twisted the ball joints so I think because of that I now have a clunking sound coming from them...
When the days get cooler again perhaps before xmas I will check them.

Don't use gas oven!!!
I asked my wife to set it on 220*for me, once it was preheated, I put down 2 sheets of foil on the rack and set the light in the middle of the oven so it doesn't touch or come close to the walls.
7min later I pulled it out tried to separate it, it was still a little hard, but I saw a little movement in separation, so stuck it back in for a min or so, came out good, had to use a little force to separate it a side at a time and vuala it came apart
The lower the temps in the oven, makes it a slow baking process, that way you don't burn your light fast👍🏼

Thanks!! I used mguires heavy duty kit, about $25 at Walmart, spent about 3 hours total on all the front lights
Blkexcoupe: I followed directions on the box clean, mask, wetsand 1000 grit for 35min, clean, then wetsand with 3000 grit for another 25 min, then clean again dry!
After that use cleaner polish with a drill attachment and for about 10 min and then by hand apply uv protector like a wax and done.
Notice I posted the time per each headlight.
Everything supplied in the kit except for the drill.
Wax on wax off and it'll be done, I was amazed how it came out!!
