Took out the brown dash and put in a black one to finish my interior conversion.

I started around 2pm on Friday afternoon and gave up around 11PM. Friday consisted of removing the everything you see in the photo, breaking 2 mint condition center vents (which I paid about $250 for ) getting the dash back in with my 3rd and final mint condition center vent.

Saturday morning (10AM-3:30PM), reassembling everything up until the point of putting in the stereo. At that point I decided to reconnect the battery and make sure everything worked. Car wouldn't start, yelled some profanities and sat on the ground laughing. Called it quits.

Saturday night (10PM-11:30PM) took everything a part, found the connector I missed wedged between the dash and the reinforcement bar, hooked up the immobilizer. Reconnected the battery and fired up the car. I called it quits after that.

I'll probably try to reassemble the car tonight or tomorrow when I get home from work.

This is how it looked before I found out it wouldn't start

*Edit* I added the rest of the dash swap pics to my build thread - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...l#post10835223

For those that don't look at my build thread, finished it up last night.

Passenger seat is still at the upholstery shop. I'll be getting it back next week.

Thank you, the interior was about 1.5 almost 2 years in the making. Lots of trips to the junkyard, dealership, and upholstery shops to find everything that I needed.

It feels like a completely different car once you sit inside.

Your interior looks incredible. The color scheme reminds me of the saddle interior from the LS430 and SC430. How difficult was pulling the dash out? I saw the pictures of it taken apart in your build thread.

Removal was easier than reinstalling. This write up has an excellent step by step. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...with-pics.html

I would say the color is more European than the saddle used in other Lexus models

That’s good to hear. I’m going to dye some interior pieces soon.

It does look a little different than saddle. It looks so good.

I found out my SC got broken into while it was parked in the garage at my step-dad’s house. They stole my Pioneer headunit, my Martin season 3 DVD, and destroyed my center console. I’ll call State Farm in the morning and see if they’ll help me. I took the car back to my house since I’m paranoid that they might come back to steal my wheels.

I have an entire black center console and a few new extra headunits I can install. I may potentially need new wiring, radio dash kit, AC controls, and a new bracket for everything. It really sucks.

Finally fixed my idle issues by correcting the vacuum lines on the throttle body and also secured new pins to the wires for the IACV (long story short the shop that dyno’d my car broke the wires and I gave them a new pin set and connector that they didn't install correctly).

Also had my new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires installed and raised the front end a bit.

I drove it to the dealership to get an estimate on repairs. Hopefully State Farm gets me everything I need.

I also found that my subwoofer cover was cut open.

Cool

Ripped the failed Nakamichi sound system out of my 98 SC4 and replaced all of it. Everything. Gibson Brands shut down for inventory Wednesday and Thursday (Friday was our paid 4th holiday) and I opted for taking vacation days over deep cleaning the plant. Tuesday was a half day so I got started that afternoon pulling interior and trunk panels and console out. Just finished reinstalling the interior panels and console about an hour and a half ago. Small wonder people charge so much to do stereo installs in these cars.

Still have to bolt down the subwoofer (no hardware on hand, stores closed today) and I can get the back seat and trunk panels back in. Helluva job but it's nice to have music in the car again

Those vertex side markers are nice. I've been on the fence for years if I wanted a set for my car.
