I was inspired and my order is in; I went clear, though.... Thanks, Chris...

I had acquired some GS versions but those required to be trimmed (which I never did) and seeing these at this price point seemed the way to go.

Here you go for a direct link.

I've noticed LED tech is getting better. I decided to disconnect the Blitz iBurner I've had wired up in my car for the past 6 years and play around with 2 sets of bright LED bulbs. I had the Blitz RGB leds in the high beam housings since I never used them once I got a HID kit 10 some years ago.

I've got a set of sub 1000LM 9005 LED bulbs that I used as brightass DRL bulbs on my IS300 that I want to try out. I did that mod almost 5 years ago and never really used them. So i decided to swap them out for the newer LED tech.
The newer plug-n-play 2000LM LED lights that have fans on the back but no ballasts. I put these in the IS300 now about a month ago and I'm impressed with them. Intense bright white light akin to 100W halogens. I have doubts with the long term reliability of LEDs right now when it comes to daily driver low beams... but for use as hi-beams this stuff might last me 5+ years or beyond. Not bad for $25/a set

Yesterday I put in the sub 1000LM LED bulbs that were in the IS300. In the highbeam housing, they reflect what looks like 35W+ worth of light, but in pure intense white. I haven't checked to see how bright it looks from a distance... my idea is to convert the high beams into a form of aux light/ low power driving light to compliment the headlights. Bright enough to look cool but hopefully not bright enough that people think I'm driving with my highbeams all the time.
If that doesn't pan out, I've got the 2000LM 9005s. If I put those in I have to use them as brights because they're ridiculously intense. Since I haven't had brights in 5+ years, that would really help when I'm driving late at night on dark roads looking for potholes (you learn to be vigilant when your car has Ikeya arms on it!). The trade off of having brights is that since I'm in the suburbs of Chicago, there's only a few times where brights are even necessary. Usually long distance roadtrips and driving thru the forest preserves.

I have this idea in my mind that I can't put into practice as of yet. I'm basically waiting for a dual wattage, DRL/HiBeam 9005 LED bulb. Some LED kit where it puts out 600-1000LM in low (DRL) mode and full 100W power (2000LM+) when triggered to high beam mode.

The idea first appeared in my head years ago and that's what prompted me to buy the IBurners. I wanted to turn the hibeams into accent lighting. But, once I put those in I missed having the ability to use brights if I needed them. It's always been in the back of my mind (a way to do BOTH) but this kinda went into obsession mode since May when Sean Chiccino was looking for a LED DRL kit for his 99+ SC.
I started looking to see if anyone had developed a kit for Toyotas and other older cars that use 9005s... and I found one! A dual wattage LED bulb kit! But the problem was, the kit only works on the newest gen Toyota cars that used 9005s for DRLs. So it works with all the newer 4runners but is a no go with older DRL Toyotas. It's not backwards compatible with older Toyota tech. I took a good look at the wiring of that kit and the newer Toyotas manage DRLs using pulse voltage (2012+) instead of a massive resistor to supply a lower voltage (basically all Toyotas pre-2012)

You can still order the supra ones at toyota dealerships.

The one in the photo doesn't look like the regular TRD bar. I've never seen one with bolts on the 2 ends or thick shock tower mounts to raise it up.

It's a rare discontinued TRD bar, sold in Japan only.

I thought it looked a little different than the usual one. The Supra one needs spacers to clear the 2JZ-GE doesn’t it? I’ll have to scoop one up this fall.

I got a few parts in from my good friend ThomasGS4 to help rebuild my interior over the weekend. I got some new radio brackets and a wiring harness in the mail today. Now I’m just waiting for some money to come in so I can order my new headunit, amp, and subs. I already had a bunch of speakers I bought for my 01 ES300 that I never installed. I can’t wait to get it all put back together.

I didn't know this one existed. That's cool to see.

Yeah, it does require spacers.
