This doesn’t really count but I bought a GS300 yesterday. I figured it would make a good daily driver while I continue working on my SC. I’ve spent the past three years jumping around from various Lexus and finally got the GS.
I also ordered a new third brake light bulb for the SC. It’s been blown out for the past ten years.
Did the Cassette aux input hack but had to repair the cassette player first so it would think it was playing. 3D printed a belt since i wanted to get it done quick, and the wow/flutter of the player doesn't matter.
discovered an oil leak somewhere near the oil filter lines to the filter are covered and the splash shield is covered in oil... Timing cover?? or maybe oil pump???
Got my 300,000 mile tune-up done today, actually, 291 and something. Getting parts is not easy no-a-days, coils, rotars, caps, wire, plugs. I don't do the work. I just clean it and drive it. I don't even know where the spark plugs are (not very mechanically inclined) The Bullet w its new shoes (YOSHIHARA, Invert Wheels D-37C 235/40-18) and its 1st real engine work ever, might be ready for another 300? I don't think I am
I installed some 245/50/16 BFG Ultra Comp-2s on the back of the SC300. The spare was on the passenger front because the other tire had a sidewall puncture. I had these flying around my garage so I figured why not?
Replaced all rotors. Going to start working on BIG BRAKE prep, paint and install. Sliding pins were super dry. Not sure when the last owner added lube.
Did our cars ever come in white with black interior?
I suppose I'll answer your question with my post. I finally gave the SC300 the cleaning that it deserves. Started off with the interior by giving the carpets a good vacuuming, wiped down the dash and door panels with 303's aerospace protectant, then finished off with Lexol's leather cleaner and conditioner. Next, I degreased and sprayed down the engine bay and used my leaf blower to remove any excess water. And last but not least, gave the car a hand wash and hand wax. I'd say she cleaned up decently!
