DIFF BUSHINGS

Well today is a National Holiday so I decided to take the day off from my yard work. I had purchased bushings as a set from E30 Concepts. A friend of mine has a lift in his garage and he had offered to help me install them and today I took him up on his offer of help. It was all straight forward and was surprised that the old bushing in the crossmember came out easier than the pinion bushings. It did go back together very easy after I cleaned the threads on all bolts. Also we did not drop the center bearing for this installation when we installed the diff like so many people report.
The bushings were the STRONG FLEX brand and with the difference it has made on my car I can highly recommend them to anyone needing bushings for price and availability.

Thanks,
OK. Its always looked like that
I think the only trick is don't let it get too dirty in the 1st place
I used to hose it down at the car wash til I got water in the cylinder and that cost me $100 something a few years back

Thats the easy part, clean the engine to however you want it then lightly spray tire shine / black over the whole engine
close the hood, next day the engine bay looks like that! Seems to work like it does on the tires. Spreads itself

The stuff must have some protectant qualities, because I have never changed a hose in there, that I remember

I washed my SC and LS today for Coffee and Cars in the morning. I was going to take the SC but I don’t want my daughter’s giant car seat tearing up my leather.

Kira, have you ever thought about using a thin blanket or cover under your daughter's child seat to protect your good leather back seat. We have done that but it has been years and years ago.

After replacing my tires with some new P7's (235/50-17), I took the car to my local Toyota dealer for a 4-wheel alignment($89 special). Now it tracks like on rails. Then I yesterday did the (black) Plasti-Dip spray 'trick' (5 coats) to all my chrome emblems- they turned out wonderful! (Pics if anyone cares) Now waiting on my 2 "Y pipe" merge collectors from Vibrant to connect up to my new Vibrant "Ultra Quiet" resonator that's gonna replace that 3rd (unneeded) center Cat Convertor...

I use an awesome product called Sonus Trim and Motor Kote. You can find it most online retailers even the Bezos one for about $15. Works amazing. Only thing I’d say is the instructions are a little weird. The instructions say to not wipe after you spray but I find it looks much better and gives better results when wiping after letting it sit for a few minutes.

A blanket is a really good idea. I’ve been using a thick bath towel but it’s not long enough to cover the entire seat. I‘ve got so many blankets but I’ve never considered using one.

I forgot to mention that this past Saturday our local BMW sub chapter had a drive to Biloxi to eat some outstanding Greek food (tenth year for this run). The route that we drive from Mobile has quite a mixture of roads including some challenging curves for this part of the country. I led the way with my SC300 and it really shined on these roads since I have the new suspension. I had another senior (not as senior as I am) citizen with me and we both enjoyed the handling of the car.

Thanks. Install was pretty detailed and straight forward. (Well with airlift performance) it came with a harness that was plug and play. Running the airlines was probably the hardest. I’ve always wanted bags too and there was sale I couldn’t pass up on so I went for it.
