Today I replaced my sway bar end links and bushings. I really like the Moog end links. They are a bit beefier and have zerk fittings so you can grease them and flush out debris etc.
Got a new Interstate battery and a full synthetic oil change. Ready for winter (I hope) done at a Meineke. Had my motor mounts installed there also. Most of the suspension now is less than a year old, wheels are a little over a yr old
Started prepping my SC for winter in the mountains. That means a lot of anti-freeze. Got a new Interstate battery. Man, they are good! The Interstate I had, I bought in 2015. Got a full synthetic oil change.
The car took a beating all summer from this monsoon thing, especially the interior, so I did the whole carpet cleaning, foam can and hand scrubbing bit. Have to tell you; for a 30 yr old daily driver the carpet came out real nice. No wear and tear anywhere looking good.
Started something I have always done and believe in, more and more every year. I Armour All the whole interior twice a year. Once for summer and once for winter. The whole thing, every little nook and cranny and the all the rubber inside and out. Around the doors and floors, around the trunk and hood.
Even the plastics, can't hurt! Must work I have all the original rubber, everything in good shape, no cracking
Someday. I'm going to do repadding inside the Corbeau's. They are getting flat. Imagine having to repadd your racing seats cause you've had them so long. Other than that they are still holding up. Stitchings are intact, no signs of wear, colors are good for their age
There it is, here comes Old Man Winter. Yikes!

Today was a Big deal, at least for me!
Hit a Birthday, Anniversary, Milestone or whatever you want to call it____300,000 miles and its 30th yr
Oh, BTW I have a thing about numbers
Had the car for basically 20 of its yrs. One builds up quite a relationship w it in that time
Can't imagine driving anything else
This is the car when it hit 300,000 in Ash Fork, Arizona. An old Route 66 town

Congrats on 300K and that's a nice ride. I'm debating whether to fix my gauge needles.. I've had mine for two years and have learned to live reading the shadows..
Did my oil change yesterday. What a freaking mess! I need to come up with a new approach on the filter removal. Trying to bag it just makes it worse. I'm going to try to find a big funnel to wedge underneath the filter and catch the spill that way.
Also did a drain and fill on the tranny fluid. I have the filter and new pan gasket but could NOT remove the pan. It is seized on there big time. I'll have to come up with a new plan of attack to get that puppy off.
Winter wheels/tires (michelin X-Ice) were mounted 2 weekends ago, but no snow yet in the Denver front-range area.
Fantastic results, amazing how much depth is restored to the color now that the surface scratches are gone. Putting the Royal back in RSP!

Congrats on the 300k club! Admire your spirit and ongoing dedication to the car. Going on11 years with mine and definitely agree with your sentiments about not wanting to drive anything else.

Haha well said, sir. Thanks for the kind words. Gonna go at it with microfiber pads next to further remove imperfections. I’ll update my build thread with those pictures. Thanks again, bud.

Hey Barbary, as much as you drive, you may need another clay now. Wash the car and dry it. Take a plastic ziplock sandwich bag and put your hand inside, rub it along the surface of the paint with your finger inside. If you feel little bumps and or hear the bag kind of making a scraping sound, you most likely have contaminants on your clear that a clay bar can/will remove.
Claying a car is only one step in the detailing process of course. And, clay is actually an abrasive so while it’s helping it’s also hurting, a little. I recommend after clay to polish the paint with a dual action polisher and that will remove any marring caused by the clay and enhance your gloss.
If you have scratches and swirls, you may also need a correction stage between clay and polish, using a cutting pad and compound. Hope this helps.
