That doesn’t look half bad! Only thing I’d say is that for practicality’s sake, the glossy finish will reduce your grip in those areas. May be better in just the top and bottom instead of 10 and 2. Looks very cool though!

Recapped my ECU. Surprisingly the caps i removed were not leaking even after 22 years but I still decided to do it because i didn't want to deal with the possiblity of them spewing acid all over the board and casing damage later down the line. Surprisingly, after changing the caps, it feels like the car moves a bit smoother, both when starting to move from a standstill and when shifting at high rpm. Idk if this is actually the case or if its simply because i disconnected the battery and the whole thing reset. Either way, now i don't have to worry about leaky caps

- V -, Would you mind sharing where you purchased your new capacitors? I am interested in doing the same? Also how many and what capacitor numbers did you order?

Thanks,
Bruce

No problem, I listed the all the caps that I needed for my 99 in my build post. Here is a link to the specific post: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...l#post11185111

One advice i can give you is get yourself a really nice solder sucker and be very patient when doing it lol

Thanks so much. Ya, I am well prepared with a good solder sucker. I have done plenty of de-soldering. A hot *** soldering iron helps too.

Default Re-Capped my ECU today

I replaced all the capacitors in my ECU today. The car runs way better. Much smoother acceleration. So much faster.

This is a 1995 Supra 5 speed ECU 89661-14501
I had to replace 5 capacitors.

1 x H9417 105C 220uF 10v 5mm - Replaced with Panasonic EEU-FR1A221B
1 x H9416 105C 100uF 10v 5mm - Replaced with Panasonic EEU-FR1A101B
1 x H9415 105C 15uF 35v 5mm x 11mm - Replaced with Nichicon UKL1V150MDDANA (alternate is a Panasonic EEA-GA1V150)
2 x H9414 105C 10uF 50v 5mm (minor leaking) - Replaced with Panasonic EEU-FR1H100B

V and I are on the same wavelength!

No clay, but I compounded, polished and ceramic coated as well!

Default Replaced my clutch master cylinder

Today I replaced my clutch master cylinder with a Wilwood.70” bore. Boy does it feel tight. I got it bled so good. The push is a little harder as the old bore was .625” but the throw is shorter. In any case it feels great.
