Looking good as always, Rudy! What type of trans fluid are you using? I've heard in the past that automatic trans fluid will smoothen up shifts in our 5spd cars, I'd be curious to hear your take on that.

Thank you Nick!! Have a killer weekend man.

Thomas - thank you very much! That old thing is holding up well and drives like a dream. Right now I've got some of the Red Line "shock proof" 75w90 in there. It's a little notchy shifting when it's cold out, however, as soon as the fluid is warm it shifts nice and smooth. I have yet to try ATF in a W58 and have always stuck to either Red Line or normal dyno-oil since that seems to keep the old synchros happy. However, these cars take well to ATF as PS fluid and I don't doubt that the W58 would be happy with it too. My biggest concern is keeping it alive with the much higher torque rating from the VVTI GTE motor. I try not to dump the clutch or launch TOO hard, however, I drive it like I stole it half the time and fingers crossed everything's held together so far!

Replaced the alternator and now it’s a perfect 14.4 volts.

If you want an excuse to upgrade, that’s perfectly fine by me! I do it too sometimes lol! But, if you just want to solve the issue, battery would be my guess, since you said the terminals were loose.

I just saw a multi meter on sale yesterday. I need to grab one. Definitely looking to upgrade everything to handle a more powerful stereo.

I got my windshield re-tinted after a year of not having it. It really helps with preventing the interior from fading. I plan to redo the back window since it’s looking a little funny, which I assume it’s because the tint is over 12 years old now. Will also add a tint eyebrow to the windshield like I had before. Not in a huge rush as I need to fix up my GS.

Hey Kira,
What tint grade will you use on the windshield and also on the back glass? I will need to re tint my back glass before hot weather gets here.

Last couple of days/weeks:
New tires and new sizes (245/40/18, 255/40/18) I think this is the perfect fit with the 350z wheels
Oil Change: Motul xclean 8100 efe with Wix filter
Reconfigured aux/BT with OEM headunit
refinished headlights again. Hopefully next time I do this, I'll have the equipment for a proper clearcoat instead of the 'sealant' that comes with the kit i use
Wash so its nice and shiny again!

Hey Bill! I used Llumar 35% ceramic tint on the entire windshield. For the back glass it’s 5% all around. I run 5% on all of my cars.

if you do a lot of night driving then I would recommend 50% on the windshield and 15 or 20% all around. My tint guy no longer does 50% so we did 35%, which I had before.

Good morning Kira,
Thanks for info. I am running 50% on my windshield also and it is not too dark to drive at night for these old eyes. When I replace my back glass I want to go with something that is real dark to save the leather on my back seat.

50% on the windshield is pretty nice. I wish my guy still had 50% to put on my GS.

That’s a good idea. It’s hard to keep the back seat looking good. Mine still cracked and split open despite my tint and the car being garaged most of my time owning it. I think my leather just got really dry. 😞

Thank you! It’s been a really long time since I’ve posted pics of my SC. I think the last pics I posted were from summer 2010.

Once I get my interior and radio put back together I might make a build thread. I need to organize all my photos and put them on one computer, as the car has changed it’s look many times over the past decade or so.

We had a heavy snow weeks ago and things are FINALLY starting to melt off. Swapped the plate frame out (got a Hoonigan gift card for xmas and loved this plate frame despite it being TOO relevant to my life lol).

Finally got the old girl out today - nothing like spinning tires in 2nd and 3rd gear on cold roads during boost weather. I love this damn car.
