Lookin good, man! Congrats on the smog pass. Emissions is stressful enough out here with a modified car... I can't imagine having to go through smog!

I washed the SC and GS. Trying to keep the SC looking good until I can throw a new alternator in there.

Good afternoon Kira,
I have mentioned on here that I installed an SC430 130 watt Denso alternator on my SC300. Since Denso is OEM I bought a FACTORY rebuild and have a lifetime warranty. There is a boss (casting protrusion) that has to have 5mm shaved off to fit. You can take to a machine shop and have milled off or cut it off with a cut off wheel. I highly recommend this or you can buy one off the big Toyota pickup which you will have to change the plug. I believe the one from the truck is a 160 watt.
With the SC430 you will then have six phase which should take care of anything that you update in your car. Let me know when you install it. Oh by the way there was no problem turning in the OEM 100 watt for a core. Just put it back in the box and returned it.
Good luck,
Bill

Did a few tedious little things on mine over the weekend. I replaced all of the clips for the cowl weather seal (found an old thread where Craig had pointed them out - thanks man!), I also replaced my trunk struts since I was finally sick of it hitting me in the head lol!

Cars driving awesome right now and I hope you guys all get to enjoy yours this week as well!

Sometimes it’s the smallest things that make you feel the best! When I reconditioned my fender liners and found a high face spare tire that cleared my BBK, it just felt so good!

I drove my car for the first time in over a month. We’ve been working on our new house and so my garage is full of all kinds of junk. Rather than have my car on the curb where hooligans could ruin her, I’ve kept her at my sister’s house in her garage. So, it hasn’t been started or driven this whole time.

The battery is getting a little weak, she barely started. But, after the initial malaise of the first cranks she roared to life and drove beautifully! I am hoping to get her back in my garage this weekend. Wish me luck!

Nick

Nick - you're so right! I've done so many engine swaps and silly projects that sometimes I forget how satisfying the small things can be. After this car I think I'll hold off on another swap for quite some time lol.

Congrats on the house - purchasing mine a few years ago definitely slowed down the car stuff but it's been a well worthwhile trade off.

Hope you get to spend a little more time enjoying that gorgeous car soon!

I’ve never attempted an engine swap so this will be my first, whenever the heck it happens!

Hope I do! I’ll keep you posted!

It will certainly be an experience you won't forget! Pulling an engine for the first time is a truly awesome feeling, and seeing a new heart get dropped into an empty engine bay is even better.

Keep at it man!
