No…. Silver Spruce Metallic…. 6M3. (But, a respray in 2013 slightly darker).
You might consider a shade of green. I have seen some lime greens that provide interesting contrast to a blue car or go darker with a British racing / Sherwood Forest shade….
I like your combo. I looked at some more Supra pictures with red calipers and that doesn’t look bad. It’s kind of tried and true. The orange is appealing too but I think it’s going to be hard to match the Lexus orange. I’ll figure something out eventually! Lol
You painted with regular car paint I’m guessing from a body shop, not high temp right?
Supra Dr,
It has been a busy day and I just found your offer to help. I do think that I have it figured out now that I have sat down and really looked at them. Will take you up on the offer if I am not successful.
Thanks again,
Bill

i was told that the body shop did use high temp paint they custom mixed. They also applied several clear coats. They could have been stretching the truth but so far the paint has not failed and it has been over 7 years.

Good to know! I planned to apply several coats of clear as well! I’ll update you guys when I figure it out!
I finally got my rewards certificate from Costco in the mail and it’s almost enough to get a new battery. I’m going to look at some later today when they open. I got one last weekend for my LS430. It was a tough decision last weekend as there was a big car show and I couldn’t decide which car to take. The SC still need an alternator but the car meet was close enough that I could’ve driven it just fine. Took the LS since my sister brought hers.
Surprisingly there wasn’t a single SC or Soarer there, so maybe I should’ve brought it out.
Something kind of SC related came in the mail from Lexus for me today, a 2023 LC500 owner’s manual. I’m not buying an LC any time soon but I can’t turn down free Lexus stuff. An SC manual should be here soon too.
Replaced the rear speaker grilles since the existing one for the sub was damaged. These ones I ordered were a lot darker than I thought they’d be but I actually think they look way better. Now you can’t even see them through the rear.
Something for the regulars here. This is my 3rd SC, previously 2 were lower mileage 98 300s. This is another 98 but a 400. Needed something to keep boring miles off the GSF.
Flew out to Sacramento CA to pick it up. Made the 1800 mile trip back to south Texas; started at 221k, ended just shy of 223k. Came with a bunch of stuff like 99+ 3 spoke steering wheel, extra set of NOS 97+ tails, grill, LS400 calipers/Supra TT rear calipers, etc. Pulled the nearly new headlights off and replaced with a used set I refinished. Gonna sit on all the hard to find extras.
Pictures aren't up-to-date but I've already torn into it. Pulled seats and deep cleaned interior. Reinforced the inside window trims before they break further. Resealed trans pan and replaced filter/fluid. New tires, parking brake boot, etc. Got all the parts laying around to do the timing/accessory belt, head unit/speakers, and LS caliper upgrade hopefully over the next couple weekends.
I changed (almost) every bulb in the car to LED. This was a bit of a painful process and a ton of learning along the way. So many interchangeable bulb numbers and little details to be mindful of. I started with Philips Ultinon everywhere but then quickly discovered that I didn’t like 6k color much and that they were particularly good in certain applications. Bought a boat load of VLED’s products at 5k and I’m very happy. Pictures don’t do it justice, but here goes:
I need to take some night shots of the interior. Hopefully you can get the gist by seeing the door light in this picture. It’s transformed the interior feel. Especially the footwell light.
Nick
Which LEDs did you run in the headlights/tails? Any issues with them triggering the bulb out light in the cluster?
TXMeatball - that thing is stunning! Congrats. Awesome combo you have there!
And Nick - thanks for the heads up on the tail ecu mod - I just picked up some LED tail light bulbs so I'll be doing that as well!
Anytime, Rudy!
Also, don’t forget the flasher relay if you’re gonna do the turn signals too! Adding resistors is a bad move cause the resistors generate a lot of heat. Instead, a flasher relay specifically made for LED bulbs is the best option. I picked one up at my local Advance same day. I’m pretty sure it was this:
