Some years, the high beam headlights were glass, not sure when. If Craig sees this he will get us on the right path. I have a set of the glass high beams that I got out of the trunk of an early SC400 in the scrap yard. Have always wondered what years the glass headlights came on. Your lights really cleaned up great.

It was a limited run of 100 blanks from Garage Alpha. They are all sold now.

I have a glass high beam but I think it was from one of the later year SC’s. A friend gave it to me ten years ago but I only have one.

The ones on my 1993 are plastic though. I forgot which years they came on, as I found a set at the junkyard before.

You're right as rain, Bill. All 1995+ SC's received glass high beams.

Hey Thomas, thanks for the confirmation. I had wondered about that since I picked up those lights for $6.00 a piece. By any chance have you ever read why Lexus changed to Glass? Would love to know.

I swapped out my taillights for the third time in the past week. Currently using my 1995 tails as they were my main set back when I daily drove the SC.

Last week I had 92 taillights without a wiring harness hooked up. They sit on the car when it’s not being driven. I almost left the house until I realized the car didn’t have brake lights at all.

Technically Friday and now yesterday, did the ”Spring Cleaning” with a wash and polish and wheel/tires dress up and attended a local Cars and Coffee with great weather. A few pics but I had the only SC there but several JDM right hand drives, and a nice Supra. There was also an original owner of a 1972 Celica he brought to the US from Okinawa….

Small but tasteful event.

I was there😁

3 RHD Japan cars in a row.

Very clean Supra

‘72 pampered Celica

Engine bay and keepsake license plate.

Hey Duck,
Just for your information the old Ford sitting next to the Celica is a '30 or '31 Model A. And I bet you noticed that the wheels have been changed out to a later model '33-'36. Yes the old timers changed out wheels also, Mostly the original tires were getting hard to find so they went with later 16" wheel. Very few went with the 17" that was on the '32.
I wish I could change out the wooden spoke wheels that my '27 Dodge Brothers has on it. I have been looking for years (this is my first car) for a set of wire wheels or the military wheels but when you find them they want what my car is worth.
Have a great day,
Bill

More like the past couple of weeks but...put in BC coilovers and solid steering rack bushings from PHR, had new high pressure power steering hose fabricated, installed JVC stereo unit, and reattached the telephone antenna.

On to-do list: repaint the wiper blade arms, subframe and rear differential bushings, running rich so possible ECU rebuild? Then will look into some exhaust stuff.

It's getting there 😎
