Thank you!
Always thought they're such a good design when they came out. And it is timeless. I am amazed it was designed in 1990 or so. (I think that's probably when the process started)
Waited a bit too long but finally ordered and had installed today 2 new replacement rear tires. Went with the EVO 2s again. While they had it up in the air, got the oil/filter changed as well.
The ride is very much improved as driving the torn up Bay Area freeways to the shop was horrible. The drive home was so much better….
Thank you!

I completely agree! I think the same thing every time I see a clean SC drives by, stock or modded. It’s fascinating.
I found a crack in the power brake booster line that runs across the back of the motor to the junction of the hose to the booster. I heard a slight hiss back there and touched that hose and the hiss changed pitch so I touched it again and the hose had turned to almost a charcoal and broke like a dried twig. Its about 13" long so I bought a foot of 3/8 line from the parts store. After I installed it with 2 worm clamps (3/8 =.95mm fit but wasnt real tight) I started the car and the hose immediately collapsed under the manifold vacuum. Not gonna work like this so I took the hose out and pushed a piece of scrap hard plastic 9mm line into the 3/8 hose. It fit like a glove with a little grease and now the hose does not collapse. Also replaced an evap line that was not spec (only vacuum rated, not J30 vapor/fluid rated) off the charcoal canister, guy failed me on that too after I failed the sniffer test for high HC and NOx. I hope the vacuum leak at the booster hose was affecting the first test. I also proactively replaced a repaired section of the large vacuum line that comes off the front of the 1UZFE manifold. It too had turned rock hard and I was afraid the guy was gonna fail me on that too so I used the rest of the J30 vapor rated line. I had to cut the original back all the way to the left cam cover as it was rock hard until that point to fit the plastic barb union into some flexible hose
A few nice examples at the monthly C&C gathering yesterday….
Rare ‘01 LS430 “stretch” edition. C8 with heavy carbon fiber accents. More impressive in person. Hellcats hanging together…. Was told both colors hard to come by.
