I appreciate it guys.

Today I found out my local junkyard has had a black interior 95 sc400 for over a month... I wish I figured it out quicker.
Most of the good black interior stuff was gone, everything under the dashboard, the door panels, a-pillar trim, b-pillar trims, 3 seatbelts, the window motors were gone.
I still made out with some great parts. Pulled both door actuators in good shape, the passenger window glass, a black dash board in really good shape, and a passenger front seatbelt. Most of the car was demolished, whoever got to it before me went to town on everything. The window trims were smashed to bits under the car... ouch.
Parked next to the SC was a really clean interior 2000s Celica, I pulled one of the seats and tested it in the SC. These things are light, and a really nice looking style IMO... The front mounts line up really great, the rear mounts are a little off. I have a plan to get them sitting nice in my black 94 though.

I'm glad you were still able to find some good parts on that SC. Nearly every SC that hits the junkyard gets destroyed by some goofball. I've lost out on so many good trunk lids, 95 tails, and 97 tails this way because somebody used a crow bar to open the trunk.

Those black interiors are rare at the junkyard. The last one I saw was so nasty that I didn't touch it.

I actually went back and got some more stuff (sunroof assy, heater valve). An interesting thing I discovered today was that the 95+ cars have these B-pillar braces(?). I noticed my 92 and 94 didn't have them but I thought I remembered there being holes for them to mount. So I brought them home and discovered there are not holes to mount them and the plastic housings for the wire harnesses are different designs as well. The legs of that brace won't fit over the 92-94 plastic housings.

Scored this set of wheels/tires for the RX350 from the yard as well. $335 all in. Will be going up 5 in height. Have gotta black the center caps out though, I dont like the design of them.

I also took delivery of this big guy. Wont get to touch it until warm weather is back, but I'm very excited.

Just picked up a red 2000 SC400 last weekend to go with my GS350 F Sport.

Haven't even registered it yet but I swapped some LED bulbs in the low beams so far. I need to restore the headlight lenses to see what kind of light output I can get. I'm not a fan of the OEM lenses but I'll try to make it

Have plans to wash, decon, clay bar, and do some test spots polishing to see what combo/techniques work best. Have LED bulbs for the interior on the way.

Also plan on finding some all weather mats soon. Goal for this one is to restore it and enjoy it. I'll modernize the lighting and add a new head unit/subwoofer soon also. I'll get to tint, chrome delete, and wheels likely next year.

Congrats on the pickup! I saw someone on the FB groups recently say they're working on having some glass lens produced to fit SC headlight housings. A guy that goes by "Messy Garage" sells clear plastic lens that fit SC headlight housings, if you're looking for a lens change. They are pretty high quality, and look great in hand.

If you're looking for a sub that fits the factory location on the deck, I went with the Pioneer TS-d10LS4. Works great as a free air sub in my testing.
I also tried the next series up, the pioneer z10ls4 and found it was a half inch oversized and wouldn't clear. It would've fit great depth wise, if you want to modify your decks cutout.
I'm not sure how well these would pair with a factory amp though..

Enjoy your 400! Post some pics of it as well

Been looking for that exact spec for a while. Where'd you find it?

Thanks man! The clear lenses would be great! Me doing the work to take the OEMs apart to seat the clear ones on there may be a little sketchy/scary but I've seen it done with BMWs before to install halo rings.

Guy swapped the door and rear deck speakers for Kickers but he left the subwoofer alone. It has a Nakamichi system and he says it stopped working soon after the Kickers were installed. I plan on taking the Nakamichi out and keeping it with the car if I should ever sell it and somebody wants to attempt to use it. I need my modern conveniences LOL. The Pioneer sub sounds promising. I need to see if he hacked up the rear deck any. My heavy bass days are behind me but I do like a solid low end presence. If I have to delete the amp with the aftermarket speakers I'll try to find something small with suitable RMS power for everything.

I'll load some pictures once I try to get the paint dialed in to my liking. Trying to save it instead of repainting it but they went with single stage paint and I'm trying to learn all I can about techniques/products to try via YouTube. I'm pretty solid with polishing clearcoat so we'll see how I fare with single stage.

Thanks again for the information! 👌🏽👌🏽💯💯🙏🏽🙏🏽

Honestly I'd been browsing for an SC400 for almost a year. After doing a lot of research I decided that I wanted one of the newer ones with the fixes and higher HP output. Hit most of the usual car websites but ran across this one on Ebay and hadn't seen a 2000 for sale in like 6 or 7 months prior. Asked a bunch of questions to see if the guy was legit or somebody who beat on their car. I got lucky and he's a 23yo weekend warrior who got tired of making repairs and paying for the maintenance he couldn't perform himself. He was up to date but just got tired of it and got himself into a red Dodge Challenger. He loved his SC400 but financially he said he just wanted to cut his losses and focus on the Challenger.

Gave me a deal that I couldn't refuse and answered all my questions and let me see everything via video calls. He wanted to see the car with someone who would keep it in good shape and keep him up to date with any changes. Service records/history all rock solid. Car was hit on the passenger door but repaired. Interior is clean clean with no rips anywhere. I plan on getting started on it this weekend.

Drove 6 hours and towed it back home with a UHaul trailer last Sunday.

Got a retired Lexus/Toyota Master Tech lined up to give it a look over. He actually offered to buy it sight unseen after I told him what I had just purchased which made me feel really good about the buy.

So eBay found the car but we communicated for a couple of weeks and got the deal done. I almost feel like I stole it...sorry bro 😬 kid had done all major services/maintenance and only mods done were K&N filter, Magnaflow exhaust system, and Kicker speakers. Nice clean slate to work on restoring and adding my own touches to it along the way.

You can find one it just takes patience and luck sometimes. I preferred a black car but the car was so clean and well cared for I had to jump on it. There was a black one less than 10 miles from me here in SC but I didn't think it was worth what he wanted so it sat on Marketplace for over a month. Says sold now, but I paid less than half of what he was asking for his older one for a 2000 so I feel like I made a great decision. Kid proved to be a great owner/seller. Gave me a bunch of extras, supplies, repair manual book, extra filters, and a couple quarts of Mobil1 oil for it.

Good luck with your search. If I run across anything close I'll try to hop back on and let you know.

Yep, that's the one. He put the factory shift **** back on for me.

It's been fun so far. Doing 2 step correction on the paint to get it more presentable. Had 2 people stop already and ask if I'd sell it when I leave it in the driveway. Keeping it in the garage until I can finish the paint correction. A little over halfway done working on it after I get off of work.

Window regulator replacement next then tint and probably chrome delete with black gloss vinyl.

Before correction

After correction

My SC’s windshield cover kept getting blown away by the wind this morning so I had to take it off.

On another note, I found a super clean SC300 for sale but I think I’ll have to pass on it since I just got another GS300 and I’m running out space to store cars. My stepdad is selling his house with a five car garage and that means I won’t have my extra garage anymore. It’s got me thinking that maybe I should build a shop with living quarters and just have the SC in my living room.

Read a few threads on the topic of the Nakamichi & Pioneer sound systems. I have a Pioneer head unit, a Nakamichi head unit, a Nakamichi subwoofer, a Pioneer amplifier, the 12-disc CD changer, & I just bought a harness off Ebay but I'm not sure if there's a difference between it & harness in my car now.

The connectors seem to all plug right into the Nakamichi head unit, but there doesn't seem to be any info on if the two head units are any different, if you need any unique wiring, etc. Anyone happen to know? I'm tired of driving in silence every day & I really would like to just get a head unit set up so I can enjoy driving my tapes & CDs. The wiring in the trunk will definitely need some soldering for the amplifier to work, but once that's done I can use the subwoofer (hopefully).

Will a Nakamichi subwoofer work with the Pioneer amplifier? Or do I need a Pioneer subwoofer?
