I would take the stock airbox, and make that filter fit inside of it with the BFI opening in front behind the headlight. Your pulling 70% more air with the larger surface area, but that 70% is hot air, thus making no major difference in performance. Looks good, but function over form

Thanks a bunch! It was all pretty much bolt on except for the maf adapter. Had to modify it a lil, but def loving it!

They may be true, but the biggest difference that should be made is Throttle response which has increased 10 fold. Power is about the same (I had blocked off the silencers on the stock tubing).

I have a friend that likes to get crafty with aluminum, so I'm gonna work with him to make me a cold box like ARC units. For now, I'll leave it like this or I'll get a cheap heat shield off ebay for the meantime.

That looks good! Does it make that cool sound that cold air intakes make when you hit the gas?

Also, how hard was it to install that piping?

lol, the blip sound or the jet sound? I can't notice it since my exhaust is a lil loud, but If I pull the throttle from the engine bay, I can hear it. Not the reason why I did it tho :P so I'm not sad over it

Installation was pretty easy - If you grabbed the right parts the first time.
I grabbed the wrong maf adapter plate, so went back and got the other one, then had to drill my own holes to bolt it correctly. Other than that, it was cake and could be done in 30 minutes tops.

Scraped off tint on drivers side window, swapped out greddy type RS blue off valve because it had a bad diaphragm and was back spinning the hell out of my turbo. After that I put on my Greddy type R BOV, and its huge! But still had back spin, seems the vacuum tee was the culprit. Replaced it with a larger opening tee, and now it works better.

If you ran that air filter just under the head light, you wouldn't get any engine bay heat. But you wouldn't see that nice scepter air filter

Update on intake

Got crafty and took the stock airbox apart and made a heatshield...also added a breather filter. Much better!
