Default ES300 and SC300 Same Engine? Nah. LoL

SC3 is an inline 6. The ES3 is a V6. Two different engines. Yours is faster but a much different engine. The differences have been mentioned previously.

The ES300 has a V-6 ... the SC300 has an inline-6. They are NOT the same motor at all. As a matter of fact, the only thing they share is the nameplate and the 3.0L displacement. The SC is available with a 4.0L V-8, whereas the ES series is strictly 3.0L V-6.

The ES300 is front-wheel-drive, and the SC300 is rear-wheel-drive. That right there alone should tell you that these cars do not share the same motor. As a matter of fact, the ES is the only front-drive Lexus available. The ES V-6 is a much more compact package than the SC's I-6. That I-6 is a long package (almost twice as long as the V-6).

Speaking of horsepower, the stock 1997 ES300 is rated at 200hp@5200rpm with 214ft-lbs@@4400rpm. 0-60 is 8.2 seconds.

From the same source, the stock 1996 SC300 is rated for 225@6000rpm with 210ft-lbs@4800rpm. Acceleration is 7.4 seconds.

Those specifications tell me they ARE in fact completely different motors.
