Well i have a 1992 sc400, I have been working on this car for the past 2 weeks and first off the car ran at 3000rpm, found out that the ecu was bad so i went ahead and swapped it out with a new one. Car has new spark plugs, wires, cap, rotors, and thats about it. When i stomp the gas the car kinda hesitates under accel and sometimes when im more into it the car is worse. Once in a while when i am sitting at light the car will die also. Ive been searching for a problem but havent found exactly what it is yet. Any help would be great thanks.

Everyone that has had a 1uz-fe long enough has had the driver side coil problem. I got my SC for $750 because of that coil. The car barley ran and shifted like the trans was shot. You could smell unburnt fuel coming out the exhaust. I dropped the new coil it and she ran fine.
The SC4 has some great engineering as far as the ignition system. The system runs through two separate coils two igniteres and 2 cap and rotor assemblies. Then the 4 wires of each rotor goes to two cylinders on each side. So the car will run on half its ignition system.
My guess would be a fuel delivery issue. I would start by doing the 12v bypass of the fuel controller because its free and takes 5 min. If not that than check fuel pump and filter. Just a thought.

I had this exact problem with my old '95 and never figured it out. Wouldn't mind finding a solution if it happens again to me..
Search 'hesitation' in the search function and there will be lotsa results with this similar problem. I seem to remember it being a maf problem? Can't remember exactly though..

ya that is exactly what mine feels like is the fuel is cutting out for a split second....i am still searching for the problem but i have yet to figure it out. The drivers side coil wasnt the problem at all so im still searching for a cause to it.........im changing fuel filter tommrowo and i am also going to hard wire the fuel pump for a minute and see what happens
