So i leave the bar yesterday (sober) after watching some football. I buy a buritto and walk to my car in pacific beach. I notice my back end in like 20" away from the curb. Turns out my car was hit...luckily the lady left a note and wants to pay out of pocket. She said if its ok with you ill write you a check for 1k and you can get it fixed (oem lexus parts are about $1600 ish). I say you can pay the bodyshop...just got first quote at around $2500-$3500 based on pics i emailed. Sucks man...here are some pics. Anyone know any good shops in SD?

That doesnt seem like much work, just fender and headlight and maybe a few plastic pieces. Use the rest to get your car painted thanks to her! Lucky you!

I don't mean this in a bad way but if you tell that lady you want $3000 for a body shop to fix your primered 18 year old slammed bucket, she will probably just turn around and offer you $2500 for the whole car.

You better take that grand while you can, ........ man.

so are you going to go to insurance if she dosen't pay the $3,000(dont take anyless) and why dosent she want to go through insurance(does she have any)??

She has insurance but she doesn't want her premium to go up (doesn't seem like this is the first time it happened). She said if she couldnt afford it then she would go through insurance. Oh and its not primered its painted matte black with an integrated flat clear. I have a complete other parts car so i was thinking about using those parts. Not sure since i have a buyer for that car! I had my rims off getting new tires and some fixing too. haha...

Also to add....getting a quote from a body shop with pics isnt gonna help you. First a bodyshop just wants to get theirs and do minimal work. Take the cash and buy used parts and you'll have enough money left or fix it yourself for less. Just my .02 cents!

OK, but tell her that and see if she cares. To a girl it's an old primered car. She probably expects you to find a junkyard fender and headlight for $500 and the other $500 is incentive to take the money.

Hahaha...true (they never care) I might "work" a deal with her and grab a fender and light cheap. Throw a vertex from bumper and call it a day...
