Hi guys has anyone ever had the problem of their car burning more gas than usual?

My car(93 sc400 90 000 miles) seems to be going through more gas than usual.

What is this indicitive of?

Is there a clear cut reason as to why the car would start doing this all of a sudden?

The cars exhaust seems to be pretty strong smelling(like fuel)im not sure why this is.

I am going to start monitoring my mileage to see how bad it really is as I dont think it is in my head at this point--it seems to be burning gas very rapidly.

Also on another note my cars engine light stays on when i turn the key into the on position but does not throw any codes?

Any ideas?
