Question G35 Transmission Into SC400

Today I met with a friend and he said that a friend of his just did a G35 6 speed trans swap into his 1UZ Cressida.

I was wondering if it has been done on an SC before.

Thoughts?

I say call the friend out and have him show the proof..not saying that it cant be done, but seems like a bit much to go manual when an r154/w58 is already documented with the 1UZ.

I will, he said that he made a custom adapter plate.

That would be pretty cool, i'm not sure what the price point on those transmissions are but i've seen them hold up to 800hp

they can range from $800-1200. Ive seen them hold pretty high HP too, but have also seen them explode with minimal power...

I would say you're better off sticking with Toyota on this one as Nissan transmissions are are generally weaker. The six-speed out of the G and 350 are not any exception either.

Those 6 speeds are weak....Ive never seen a stock one hold up to some power/abuse.

Ive seen a few people who made one off adapters for the Nissan transmissions on the 1uz, its so much more complex then using a R or W. and they are weak transmissions.
If the setup rivaled the R and W setup, i would be making kits for this but it just doesn't.

those trannies are huge (overall dimensions) as well. it would be a pain in the *** for not much gain.

i have a friend with 700whp in a 350z with a stock VQ 6spd trans... no breakage.

if he could fab this, then it's highly likely he mated it with his 1uz. I'd still like to see pics

The point was to make the car manual, not have a stronger transmission. it was a cressida with a 1uz swap not a sc400 anyways.

That car is using the stock 6spd trans, and i've seen a number of cars hold some power on it.

But i really don't see the point in doing this. Unless it's just to be different, or you got a free VQ trans
