thanks.....
if the greyish background is out, i don't have to take the console apart right? From the directions, i'm guessing its one of the three grey socket bulbs. Part number for the bulb is 83119-24490.
Is this correct?

you have to take the climate control out and then take it apart.
depending on which lights burnt out on your climate control you may need to solder the new bulb(s) in.
more instructions:
http://www.geocities.com/taka_sc400/...Backlight.html
only thing about those instructions is DO NOT CUT ANYTHING like he did on page 8or9 just bend it.

Have you guys got right bulbs from lexus dealer? does it match with audio player backlights? well the bulbs I installed was lil darker than normal one. so while I`m visiting Japan now, I`m ordering bulbs from local Denso shop. I`m not sure if they are correct one until I get them on Monday. (I heard they are correct one from Soarer drivers). anyone insterested?

how much have most of you guys had to pay per bulb? I went and ordered all three of them, and the total was near 40$ like 12 per bulb I think, anyway, did I get screwed, or is that about right?

I didn`t know Lexus dealer could get those bulbs.
anyways, I just got bulbs from Denso(Japan) today and looks same bulbs(original one). It comes with blue cover. it only costs $2-3 per bulb.
