Default too good to be true??

well im talking with this guy who has a 93 sc400, nice clean car. his motor cranks but doesn't start and i guess he is over trying to find out what is wrong with it and he is letting the car go for $1,500 stock wheels supra suspension & struts missing passenger headlight interior is ok. i plan on buying this car and swapping my 2jz & 5 speed tranny. i know if i want to swap i have to use MY MOUNTS, anything else i need to know before swapping manual sc300 to sc400??
thank

Wiring would be the key thing here I would think. I don't have experience with the 400, not to say it's not possible. There should be several members that have done the conversion on the board that would be able to give you some helpful information.

I would say check the starter, but the starter is located inside the engine.

No, the starter is on the exterior of the motor on the 2J, drivers side under the intake manifold. However, we all know Toyota starters are not that great.

I would give it a go... at least check it out. That price is good, but not "too good to be true". When you buy a $1,500 SC, it is probably in dire need of a remake both mechanically and cosmetically and when you add up all the costs involved to revive the car, you quickly realize that the $1,500 deal was not as great you you initially thought.

well to fix my sc300 it will cost me 2,500-2,800 and IF I fix my sc it will be salvaged. when i can buy a sc400 with nice paint and interior but it has no motor BUT thats ok cuz i have my 2jz so doin this would be cheaper and better.

hahaha...Its a great deal because its my car (clean title)! I posted up the problem a while ago here on the boards. Most people said it was the fuel pump and or the ecu. Check my posts you'll see the car, exterior is cosmetically sound! search...i have a previous offer pending as i told you! Oh and i told you the swap would be some work just slightly more work than swapping your stuff into a 300...

I had drop my na-T set up in my SC400.
You will need some motor mounts, radiator and over tank bottle, Ac lines because they are different between both cars.
You might have to jump the starter wire at the Kick panel on the passerger side, fuel return lines is different you can just buy the Fuel bypass dampner from DM or replace the return line from the 400 to the 300 line.
