Default Thinking of buy 99 sc300 need ur input

Im looking at financing a 99 silver with black leather sc300, dont have all the details yet, but its going for 7000. Looks clean ,but ill find out nore tomorrow. So I currently own a dwp 95 sc400. I love the way it drives and the smoothness of the motor. Is there going to be a big difference? Doesnt the 99 come vvti? Any downfalls to the 99s? I plan to trade my sc400 in for the down payment.

98 is the first year with vvti. This gives the car more hp and better fuel milage. By the way that is a great color combo.

That's a awesome car! 99-00 had all the cool stuff:

-gated shifter
-3spoke wheel
-preforated leather
-larger breaks
-vvt-i
-best tails
-cool little grill
I almost got the 99-00 model. Only the 98' I was stalking only had 74k and I just could not ignore that it was better taken care of. Love my SC3!!

+1 on the mpg, 97+ kit & rare color.. the only thing youll probably miss out on is that v8 growl when you add an exhaust and torque

Absolutely no complaints with my '99 sc4. But, I ALMOST wish I had a '99 sc3 instead so it would be easier to do a GTE swap down the road and have all the goodies of the newer models..

So I looked at the 99 yesterday and it was clean. Leather was nice and not ripped. All needles worked. Antenna didnt.the grill insert was cracked. Body is straight, but on the passenger side rear fender has a scrape... Right and the area where u would roll ur fenders. I guess that is called the lip? Car only has 80 something miles on the odo! Verified on the title too. 7000. Is it worth it?

It's worth it but you should talk them down. I'd offer $6k (which is fair) and see how it goes. Point out the little things, check the crack in the center air vents, check the trunk struts, etc. All of those things can add up and the dealer knows it. In this market, they'd be happy to get rid of any car that's used. Remind them that it's almost a 12 year old car with 12 year old issues like leaks in gaskets and torn bushings. I'm assuming your financing will be 36 months, so at $7000 with a little interest you're going to be around $200.00 each month. For $6k, you'll be at $170'ish. Best of luck and take post smoe pics if you get it

+1, try talking him down. We all know the 99's are great models but then again its almost 2011. Looks like a great deal if you can talk him down a bit, good luck!

just bought a 99 sc300 2 weeks ago.

Some things I fixed that were easy which you could use to talk down price:
(also check...)

-steering wheel tilt
-trunk struts
-cig lighter/ac
