How many speakers does a sc400 with only a cassette have(92) ?? Also am i correct in saying in pre 97 there was just the cassette and nakimichi option, and no other stereo systems available?? Thanks

Nakamichi was available in all years I believe 92-00. I know my nakamichi has 7 speakers (that I have counted) 2 tweets (1"?), 4 mids (4"?), sub (10"?) if you are looking for a cd changer you have to get the lexus one and you can probably find a good price on ebay. I think there was premium sound and nakamichi as options.

The CD option was avail in all models as a changer in the trunk.

The Premium non-nak (pioneer) model has 7 speakers as well.

I think the stock sub is 8" correct me if I am wrong

Sounds like an 8" but really is a 10"

The OD of the woofer frame is 10" the cone is about 9"

I appreciate all the help. Is there anyplace where i could go to find out exactly what each option has?? I know that nakimichi has 7 speakers and they are .75 tweets, 4 four inch mids, and 1 10 sub. What i am really looking for is what the stock system has and what the other optional pioneer (which i dont see very often when looking for used cars) system has. Anymore help is appreciated.

I think you have it backwards. Pioneer is standard and the Nak was optional and rare.

You should do a search under "aftermarket speakers" and you will get pics of all the factory parts. Doors have huge plastic enclosures that are sealed, tweeters on the mirror mounts, xover built in so one pair of wires. Rears have 6" holes with huge brackets, 10" basket sub top mount, and an amp between the two.
