sc400 not getting fuel due to cold.
I have proved to myself that it is the fuel that is not getting to the motor in the cold weather. I got carb starter and spray it into my intake and after about 5 tries it started to crank than boom it started.
MY main and only question is what can i do to prevent this like a normal good starting SC??? WHATS A FIX??? haha
(and yes i did the 12v "mod" to the fuel pump)
thanks and please someone answer me with help!!!!!!!!

i have come up with the idea that it is the fuel pressure regulator or the ignition coil..... im leaning more towards the FPR.
i will post results when i order it and put it in for further reference to people like me who have the same problem.

Possible bad internal check valve in the fuel pump? Try priming the fuel system with key on cycle a few times with a 30 second delay when you turn the key off. This will build fuel pressure in the line and it should start right away. You really need to put a fuel pressure gauge on the car and see what the fuel pressure is doing when you encounter the crank and no start problem.

okay that was supposed to be in caps cos im yelling at you.
DONT pay lexus to rebuild your ECU you will charged HEAPS...
i don't know how familiar you americans are with "capacitors" but REPLACE YOUR CAPS.
that is the only thing that lexus will be doing.
and that is the only thing that stuffs up in your ECU
it is 100% your ECU capacitors.
pull your ECU out - on bad ones you might notice a greasy substance on your ECU pinouts. this means your capactors are stuffed.
take the ECU to an electronics repair shop. you know - a shop that does soldering and stuff ... shops that fix circuit boards n TV's... stuff like that.
just GIVE them that. they will fix the ECU and replace your capacitors and it shouldn't cost the earth...
it is SO IMPORTANT to replace the caps in jzz / UZZ cars. i cannot stress it enough. this year more than ANY year im noticing more are failing.

^i changed mine and that wasn't the problem with my car.
willhickey - all my symptoms were strange, my car was throwing like 5-6 codes including my knock sensors so my car was in limp mode(retarding my timing) and my gas mileage suffered greatly. also towards the end where the car needed the ecu rebuild the ca no longer would start. it would crank and crank and crank but the alternator never seemed to want to catch. got my ecu rebuild and it was good as new. its been god since late december/
