...kinda.

I'm looking at buying a 1998 or 1993 SC400.

What are some known issues I should look for when I go to check out the car?

If you plan on leaving it stock, you'll be happier with the 1998 because it got many upgrades compared to earlier SC models. For information for new/prospective owners, run a search on here because it's all been discussed before.

As a general guide that covers information about SC ownership including common issues, I highly recommend you take a few minutes and read through this entire page:

I almost fell out of my chair laughing at that

to the OP, you gotta search. "Common issues" threads are all over the forums.

Most common are the LCAs, needles, center vents, rear view mirrors, door hinges, coil/ignition on the 400s.

Thanks for this. This car will be my daily driver. Only plans are to lower it slightly (every car has to be lowered), wheels, tint and paint (depending on how bad the paint is).

I wish there was a sticky for common problems/new owners, would cut down on the threads like this one lol

I see that you're in Oklahoma? Is the 98 SC400 the red one in Oklahoma City for $5,000?
