Default Engine Cleaning

I paid Lexus of Orlando $49.95 to clean mine after the oil filter got spilled down the side of my engine, best part was it only took 30 minutes.

Gah! I stay away from the stealerships as much as possible.

A can or two of degreaser a considerable amount of elbowgrease and common sense will get your engine bay nice and shiny

Dont wash your engine bay, unless you have a gte intake and cover the spark plug valley as good as you can.

I was in limp mode for 2 weeks after washing mine.

That looks awesome! What exactly did they do? I might drop by my local dealership and have that done.

It is part of the "Presidential" detailing package, I only did the engine part of it though. They power washed the engine bay (of course covered the important parts... intake, distributor cap, etc) then "dressed" everything with something that made it shine.

I've spent hours and hours before cleaning everything and wiping it down. BTW, if you spray Scrubbing Bubbles on a rag it takes almost ANYTHING off. But in this case the oil was spilled in a place I just could not reach so spending $50 for a half hours worth of work done by someone else was totally worth it.
