So you have replaced the ignition components and you still have a misfire? Sounds like you need a head gasket. If it can sit and idle all day w/o overheating but shoots up under load, it could be a head gasket. I'm not saying that's it, just saying its a possibility. Not as likely on the 400 as the 300. Does your coolant tank leak? - most of them do after close to 20 years.
Also, not sure I understand your current leak condition. Do you maybe have a freeze plug leaking between the engine and tranny?

The real test for me will be in a few days after I put the new radiator in which had a leak at the top in the front. Everything else is fine and the missing or misfire for me was the plugs and wires

I tested the compression on the left bank facing the motor all are good so at least on that side no blown head gasket. I will check the other side tomorrow as my battery went dead and the battery pack went dead while testing

Mine is fixed now. Before mine would over heat under a load faster than and sometimes seating still. I replaced the little hoses on both sides of the back part of the motor and one under the throttle body. I replaced the thermostat housing because it was cracked and thermostat just because. The radiator was replaced last after I found a crack and the plugs and wires first and then no more misfire. Drove it last night and all is good.

Finished the compression test all the numbers are within spec so no blown head gasket. Used a coolant pressure test kit to check for leaks found several fixed them all now system holds 17 pounds no problem.Yet I still have an overheating problem and at this point i am completely stumped as to what can be causing this it takes a while to get there but it does eventually overheat. This is driving me crazy. I plan on doing 1jz swap in the next month or so but i plan on giving this engine to a friend and would like to drive the car in the mean time so I am really trying to find a solution

Replaced water pump and did timing belt cap and rotor and tested to see if it was still overheating and sprung a leak in the top radiator hose. Its up next for replacement and another test

it appeared to be in good shape there wasnt any play in pulley but it did feel looser than the replacement. No impeller damage it all appeared to be intact.
