Post ?'s about rearview mirror

I have two questions about the rearview mirror on my 92 SC300. First, when I change it from dark mode to light mode about 1/4 of the mirror looks like it is foged up. I hope this doesnt mean I need a new mirror because those damn things are really expensive. Second question is what can I use to clean it?
THANKS

The fogging up happens normally when they are really hot. See if it happens at night or on cool days. Before I replaced mine, I had the center air vents pointing at it, and within 30 seconds it woulc be 100% clear.

Thanks Gavin your right about the heat thing, because we live in Phoenix, so in the summer its like 110 degrees. I'll try pointing the air vents at it and see if it makes a difference. But, I still dont know what the safest thing to clean the mirror with is. So if anyones knows please tell me. THANKS

You can't clear the fog off the rearview.

Its the side effects of heat on the LCD. Put your calculator out on a hot day, the same with happen. The best thing you can do is just leave it dark or just aim your vents up like you have been doing.
