Default Carbon Fiber hoods

I want to get some carbon fiber hoods made here in the US.
Company needs minumum order of 10 to get done......
So far, we have 2 on order. Any takers...?
We can do all OEM style or Some sort of Veilside scoop
built in or ?? But they all I believe have to be the same.
Cost will end up being about $500-550 ea plus shipping
on the initial 10 order (possibly more $ after the the first
batch is gone but easier to get after that) Anyone interested email me directly and with any ideas you have.
Thanks......Dayle

Ive been away lately....sorry. The guys making my hoods would be probably Vis Racing. I sell the other hoods all the time and overall its pretty nice stuff. Another option would be TC but they did some SVX hoods for us and they where what Id call more like Grade B hoods. Where can I get more info on Emeralds hoods?
thanks.....Dayle

Default Im going for the Grade A

production hoods. ....rolled edges and washer squirter holes
preferred. Vis finishes the underside pretty nicely too.
My friend was at the Tokyo Auto Salon last Jan and Vertex (T&E company) had a Soarer there (our generation) with CF hood, front fenders and doors !!! Some is already available, the rest should be soon. Quaility was kick *** too. Price wasnt too bad.
The wait.....usually 4-8 weeks if we are lucky. I have my source over there checking on the hoods right now too.

Not sure what you exactly mean, but most are carbon fiber with a carbon fiber inner structure. Ill take some pics of an RSX hood we just sold from the same source later on and show you that one
soon.

How much weight savings it would be, maybe 25-30lbs.
I think most people buy them for the looks anyway, thats my intentions anyway ( unless I get some some sort of scoop built in the help get the heat out from the turbo would be nice) ...but its not like these cars are all that lite anyway. As for painting it, sure you can do whatever you want with it...
This is one we did on my g/fs Accord.........dg

Dayle,

VIS racing from California? If it's them, could you arrange pick up from them? That would save the california people quite a bit on shipping.

Emerald is usually around the forums and she'll probably reply with info if she reads this. I don't want to say anything that i'm not 100% sure about.

Can't wait!

Default Vertex Soarer

HPI recently did an article on the Vertex T&E Soarer, so I thought I'd scan some pics in so you can see where they carbon fire everything. The frame for the bonnet is carbonfibre as well (not fibreglass). Anyways, here are the pics. Also I think I've found a new favourite bodykit as it is similar to the 97+ update but just a bit more aggressive but not in a drag combat style.

Cheers

It's true they sometimes "disappear" for a while and come back. But I have my fingers crossed that someone will SOON release a CF hood so I can get it!

Default We are for real....

And have been here for 12 yrs....have a good track
record. Anyone ready to do it email me, we'll start taking
deposits asap. I think the overall consensus so far is people want the Veilside type reverse scoop on it too. If they actually make
one style they may be able to make the OEM style too.
Ill ask them today.....
lets get this going soon !!

Question

Man am I interested, but I have a few concerns.

1) Has this been cleared by ClubLexus?

2) Who is the company that will be making the hoods? Motor Sports Warehouse may have been around for 12 years, but what about the hood company?

3) Has anybody seen the work they do? There was a deal like this last month, they wanted more money and it still fell apart.

"cleared"....?? what we need their permission now to offer hoods..?
I mentioned Vis Racing (www.visracing.com) was going to make them for us in one of the original post. Ive been selling their CF hoods for 5 yrs, AND my g/f has one on her own Accord, hence the reason I chose them to possibly take on the effort.
Since then Ive got more prices..Oem style $650 plus shipping.
Veilside (or Invader) style with scoop $700-725 ea....plus shipping from CA. Not sure how they handle CPUs (customer pickups, but I cant see it being any problem ) I have to get them a stock hood to make the mold off of ( any takers there..??) Im starting to look now for one.
This is all the info I have so far.......Dg
