Painting the interior! good or bad idea?
So I recently got cheated on and now have time for my other girlfriend, my 92 sc300. Well I seen a few guys at some of the local car meets with their interiors vinyl painted. My reason for wanting to paint the interior is I dislike a beige interior with a black exterior. So my qualm with painting my interior is that its new, the guy who owned it before me had everything redone with the exception of the carpet. So would vinyl painting it all black be a bad idea? If not how well does the paint hold up against normal wear? *getting rubbed against* and does armorall and other cleaning products remove the paint? Everyones opinion is appreciated!

if you just hate the beige... take out the seats and door panels get some more in tan for cheap and paint them along with everthing else...
i plan to do mine as well so i am also interested in long term wear...
....for the record i had an acura legend i did the center console in black with paint... and not a problem long term.

Yeah so I used the search function and found nothing I wanted to know under "Vinyl paint" or Interior paint" just a bunch of ext. mods... and thanks for the reply Gunyvw. I just didnt want to ruin my good interior. im sure if I take my time it will go smoothly. I found a local guy to CF wrap some stuff for me on the car but it would terribad with beige haha.

This is something I have also been looking into, since it could potentially be easier and cheaper to do than an entire interior swap. I've seen some comments here and there on the forums, but nothing too conclusive. So, I too am interested to find out if this would hold up under normal wear and tear.

You made me feel stupid. but thanks. Yeah I have access to PPG stuff SEM and other big name companys. Just wondering the success of these projects. I can understand spraying your car if its all torn up but if its not worth it im not gonna do it but it seems like a good plan if prepared right so ill try it. I will put pics up when I begin.

I conjured up a few ideas. Im going to find some nice tight black seats covers for the front seats and spray everything else. Im mainly concerned with the seats. I dont pet my dash board so im not worried about "wear" on it lol.

I may be painting part of my interior and I've been wondering how SEM holds up long term on parts like the dash or the door panels. I'm getting as many cheap black parts as I can and painting the rest, so it'd be nice to hear more feedback from people who've had painted interiors for a while.

I dont expect the paint to last forever. having to touch it up every few years due to some stupid casualties is not my concern. I just dont want to paint it and when I touch it a few months from now the paint start to peel or chip. ya know?
