Started off at 16 with an '87 Chevy Caprice, 305 auto. It was my grandpa's, then my mom's, then mine. Big pimpin' fo sho. Then I saved up and bought my real first car in '01 or '02 when I was about 17, my '92 Mustang LX hatch. Red on black 2.3 auto car, I swapped it to five-speed, did suspension and such, and finally built a 2.3T motor for it in late '04. Dropped it in and was driving it (open downpipe) to the exhaust shop when some mother****er rearended me at a light and took off. Totalled the car. I found an '86 SVO Comp Prep that had been sitting for at least five years and put most of the goodies from the LX into it.

Everyone called that car the "Streetfighter". Fun car, when it ran right, but I didn't have the time or resources to make it what it should have become. It was a 1 of 85 car, only 85 Comp Preps built in '86. Sold it in Feb. '09 for a 500% profit and used the proceeds to buy my SC.

While I had my '92, I picked up an '84 Ranger that was a complete pile of **** from a coworker for $150. Wrenched on it for a summer, then sold it to a Mexican for $350, who proceeded to get two parking tickets on my tags. I found the truck in the junkyard a few months later, next to a Turbocoupe that we were pulling a motor from.

After my '92 got totalled in late '04, I needed something to drive badly. I was mobbing my grandma's '92 Cadillac Seville and my sister's '87 Volvo for a while, then an '86 4Runner came up on the local gun board. Jumped on that and it's evolved from stock to not-so-stock. Today it has 281,000 miles; 33's, 4.88's, factory e-locker swapped into the stock rear, bumpers and sliders, balljoint spacers and OME leaf springs, Marlin clutch, etc. It's not like I've done a SAS or anything huge, but it's more than capable for the wheeling that I do, and it does great on my muddy and snowy country roads.

I also picked up a '78 Yamaha XS650 last summer; got it running this year and am working on getting a title for it. As soon as that comes through, it's getting a bunch of stuff chopped off and my goal is for it to be a nice but low-budget softail bobber to bomb around on.

^^ I love SVO's! Beautiful and rare model (Comp Prep). And the Rotas looked very good on it. At one time I had done a ton of research on the Ford 2.3 with the intention of performing a Volvo DOHC custom head swap and throwing that into a Fox or classic chassis. How are those cars to drive day to day?

Those are actually '96 Cobras that I custom powdercoated a metallic gray with green and purple flecks. Weird color but it worked on that car. The Volvo head swap is interesting, and there are a few guys on Turboford who've done it successfully, but the easier way to make big power is to port the living crap out of the stock iron head and dump a metric **** ton of boost into it. A buddy of mine has an '85 that's Grabber Orange, with a built head, stock motor, Holset turbo, etc., and it went 10.20's at 143 in Laramie a couple years ago. Crazy car. The 2.3T has always reminded me of the 2JZ, in that it's a small displacement motor that can make stupid power on a bulletproof stock bottom end and a ton of boost. Someday I want to put one into a Cobra kit car with one sidepipe, just to **** people off.

I didn't daily the SVO more than a day at a time except for a few weeks after I lost third gear in the Runner, but it was fine most of the time. That car, for whatever reason, didn't like to run right after it was restarted while hot. A lot of times, at the track or whatever, I would just let it idle for a long time rather than shutting it down, because I couldn't trust it to run right and make power if I restarted it. Dunno what that was about, but it's not a typical 2.3T problem and probably could have been fixed easily. My boss drives his super-clean '85 sometimes on nice days and makes service calls in it. As long as the car runs right and is set up as a street car, you'll be fine dailying it.

Here's my dodge Neon. It was my third car. I bought it myself when I was 20 and had it for 1 month. Girlfriend made me get rid of it cuz I bought it to replace our 2003 Focus and she was like "this thing is crap compared to our Focus". In her defense, she was right. I loved this little barbie engine car though. The hood and trunk are painted with Herculiner truck bed liner, compliments of me, along with some other cool stuff. Her name was "Car". She is missed.

My 2003 Ford Focus, second car, bought it when I was 18, had for two years, best car I ever owned besides my 92 SC400.

Ah, my first car ever, the 2000 Hyundai Elantra. Named her Diane. Pictures of her are scarce. Had a bent frame when I got her, I had just barely turned 18. She was a piece of crap. But she was my piece of crap.

My 2001 Mazda Protege. Bought it when I was 20. Such a nice little car. I screwed it up. Don't ask please. It's over. I'm over it. She deserved better than me. RIP old girl. Wish I took pictures of the engine. my 4th car.

I had a 2004 Kia Rio as my 5th car. I F***ING HATED IT. Only owned it for one day then sold it. No pictures of that one.

And now I have my precious Iris, my 92 SC400.
The engine pictures are two months old when I first got the car, it looks nothing like that now. The engine looks beautiful now. Replace a ton of hose, battery, alt, painted valve covers, cleaned EVERYTHING, all fluid changes, and a ton more. These are two month old pictures. but whatev. P.S. you can see my late stepfather inlaw's 1960 valiant in one of these.

^^ I always liked the second generation Acura Legend Coupes. Especially the Series II V6 6-speed cars. With the exception of boost, how would you compare the Legend Coupe to an SC300/400?

1989 Acura Legend ( The system was in the Legend which I installed in 02 or 03)
1989 Honda Prelude 5 speed
1995 Infiniti J30T
And now a 1996 Lexus SC400 115k
I've always liked the 2nd generation Legend coupes as well especially the Type 2 6 speeds. That was the car I wanted when I was 16. Instead I ended up with a 89 Gold sedan still loved that car had a lot of fun with it. I got that car close to a 140 countless times lived out in the country at that time use to race anyone who was down good times. Some fun times in the prelude to but didn't have it for that long though. The J30 wasn't a bad car either. Times have definitely changed I haven't even had my SC past 90 yet on the highway yet.

Before my 96' SC, I had an 02' Audi a4 which I was in love with until it gave me endless problems, slammed it to the floor, and didnt get to do much else as my spare time went into fixing motor issues. Now going back 6 years I considered it an upgrade
