Buddy of mine had a set on his red C43 AMG. If I remember correctly, after a while, the red color faded from the rubber and they just looked like regular tires. They did still put out red smoke though. Pretty neat.

 

Thats what I am planning on running on the rear on my SC. They arent "recommended" for daily street use, but are still DOT legal and are 100% safe for street use. Not to mention they are cheaper in a 255-275-305-315/40-45/17 than the standard Ecsta SPT's.


And Mongoose is correct, the red coating wears off after a short time, and they appear normal till you burn out.

i'm probably wrong but i think i heard on the news when these came out a few years ago that they were gong to be banned b/c of bloods and crips doin burnouts, something stupid like that. i say better a burn out than a drive by any day of the week.
