Just an update. Going to pick it up tomorrow. It gets better.... After talking with the owner, he has seemed to have lost the title. I am going to pick it up anyway and have a bill of sale for $200 dollars to save on some state tax here. I then will be trying to find out what the title problem is going to be at the DMV. He might end up having to go with me. We are talking about a kid here, maybe 20 or so. I will post pictures of it tomorrow, and remember I only paid $500 for this. I will ask if he will take $400. We will see, and wish me luck.

If he is the registered owner he should be able to file for a replacement title at the DMV. They will take his info and the vin and if everything checks out issue him a new title. He can then transfer it to you.

I hope its that easy here in Alabama. With a $200 bill of sale, the tax maybe .90 or something. Im glad to here its no problem on other issue on getting title. Will know more on Monday morning. Just trying to get it on my installation maybe another dilemna, without a DOD window sticker. :-)

Glad you decided to go ahead and pick it up. And the title should be easy to get as said above. Great find.

Default Here she is.

Heres the day I brought her home. Holy cowabonga it was dirty. Anyhow it cleaned ok. Alot of little things wrong here. You can see it in the pictures. Enjoy...

More to come.

I have since then pressure washed everything and cleaned it up the best I could. I fixed the leaking fron headlights, tilt steering, replaced a few bulbs, removed the purple tint, changed the oil, and had the exhaust leak fixed, and a few other things. It drives good, no rattles, sqeaks, or anything. I looked it over when it was on the lift and everything looked good, bushings, sway bars, links, etc. A very small oil leak. Nothing major.

I still have to fix a few things... It dies when you have the A/C switch off and in park??? WTF??? If you leave it on, it doesnt die, it runs smooth and no missing. Its showing to have 334K, but it has been rebuilt. I need to get a new set of rpm and mph needles, replace the cluster backlighting, and replace the climate control. It doesnt work. It lights up, but no fan control speed or function adjustment. Any ideas on why it dies when A/C is off. Laslty, I have to hot wire it to start it. I think the ignition switch is bad. ????

Not bad for only $400 bucks. I have already put over 300 miles on it in five days.

A '92 SC400 for $500? Wow! The OEM lip on that car alone is almost worth about that much when it's brand new LOL!

I actually paid $400.... Its a fixer upper and then when my stepson turns 17, it's his. But I am enjoying the heck out of it right now. It even feels like it has more power and torque than my 1992 400.

I never thought I would ever own an SC, now I have 2 of them in the family. Just awesome. I have already had 2 people wanting to buy it for, one for 1000 and he other 1500.. I just cant get rid of it. It drives too good.

I wish I had that kind of luck. That wasn't a bad deal.

I have fixed the backlighting cluster bulbs and the taillight assembly. I will install the brake booster this week and try to sort out the climate control issue. I think its just shot. NO fan control or nothing, but everything lights up. Will investigate more. I also need to buff it badly. Last thing I am worried about now.
