Looking for an SC300, got some unique questions
#16
I went and test drove a 95 SC300 not too far from me today. At 6'3" and about 350 it was tight but not too bad. The worst part was the power seat motor for the rear of the seat bottom was broken in the full up position, I think if I can find one where the seat still works I'll be fine. Also, the telescopic/tilt wheel didn't completely work. All in all the car was a total POS, but it was valuable research nonetheless.

Im 6'4" 255lbs (think line backer) and i fit perfectly fine. I have the supra seats and i never touch the roof. I have the driver as a power seat and the passenger as a manual seat. Deff the way to go if your taller!

I think I'll be fine if I find a car with a working drivers seat. Does the power Supra seat plug into the SC plug ? I had seen someone here post something about low max seat rails, will those fit a power seat ?

Alright, thanks. I've got a few cars to look at once the paperwork goes through, hopefully one will be pretty nice. I found two in a city a few hours away, I'll go look at both with cash and see if I can play them against each other.

I installed a set of '95 TT seats in my SC two days ago. They are a huge improvement other than needing new leather and losing the memory seat function (you won't miss that much). Whereas the OEM seats are very plush and adjustable things you sit ON, the Supra TT seats are plush, semi-adjustable things you sit IN. They are lower than stock and look near-stock. I am 5' 8" and they are perfect for me. No visibility or ingress/egress problems.
They do bolt right into the same factory location as the SC seats. Reuse the old bolts. The passenger side is full manual, so leave the floor cable disconnected. The driver's side (for a USDM TT seat) is powered. As stated previously, the two main power and ground wires are the same color between both seats.
I freed all the wire pins from my SC300 seat connector (there is a clamp-down section of the seat-side connector you must carefully pop up slightly, then use a very fine screwdriver to lift plastic catches-- or you can just cut the wires) and duplicated the same power and ground connections with the two TT seat wires. Instant plug and play with the floor harness. The seatbelt wires can be put into the same harness. I took many, many pictures of the connector wiring on my SC seat plug before dismantling it in case I wanted to switch back.
Also, in case you buy a pair of seats without the female seatbelt buckles, you can reuse the ones from your SC seats. They bolt right onto the Supra seat mounting locations if you pull away two plastic covers on each.

Hand Brake
ahh as far as this goes IF I remember correctly Its Like 3 mounting bolts that hold the handel assembly to the Tranny tunnel... I dont see why this couldnt be moved, Depending on how indepth you wanted to get with it I dont se why you can swap the cables and mount a foot type from a junk yard.... Anything can be acomplished with a bit of Beer and Quality thinking.
